GeForce 9800 GX2, 9800 GTX & 3870 X2 Compared

Interesting, says the launch date for the GX2 is now a week later.

9800 GTX was never next gen, the 9 series were always known to be old 8800's, the 9800 GTX is a slightly overclocekd 8800 GTS.

Interesting. Especially considering that ATI usually excels in this benchmark (but leaves games behind presumably due to TWIMTBP)...should make for nice fast cards. Can't wait to see some initial games benchmarks.

Edit: agree not looking 'next-gen' though

I know what your saying but 8*** to 9*** looks from a consumers point of view next gen but its just a marketing ploy, Its the marketing i dont agree with as they should have just called it a 8900 or something.

Makes me feel warm and fuzzy about buying an 8800GT now and even warmer and fuzzier about the prospect of SLIing the GT - I can get 14K in 3D Marks 06 with just one GT on an E6600 so goodness knows what it would get with a quad.

Wait...So the "next gen" is no faster than my 8800GTX?! I've not been paying attention to graphics cards lately.

Sound like like BS to me just like the GTX pic 3 days ago that I can only see 1 SLI connector on, then again wouldn't surprise me if its true

Onboard chip on 9800GTX just like 9800GT for Tri-SLI is a possibility. Alllowing only one SLI connector.

I wish I bought a 8800GTX when they came out. Then I could have just not worried about upgrading for a few years and still had almost the fastest card available.
