I know pros and cons of crt to lcd ...but with latest lcds would it be a big drop from crt quality?

I currently have a mitsubishi 230sb with res up to 2000odd.

Am contemplating going to lcd mainly for the bigger space with vista destop sidebar and that..

Would it be a big let-down ?

Any users done the swap and not seen that much of a difference?

Would it be best to wait for improvements?

LCD owns CRT when it comes to text, when you're staring at it for hours on end.

I find the opposite to be true. I think that LCD's are too bright for my liking if I were to read text for hours on end.

I'm interested in this - I have an old 22" Iiyama CRT and so far I've not seen anything I'd like to replace it with (doesn't help that I don't want a widescreen).

I think there's a Samsung somewhere for sale on OcUK shop that is geared for graphics professionals....

Lower brightness/contrast/backlight? On my 24" I can make it incredibly dull if I lower brightness and contrast (ideal if viewing in a dimmed room) Even with my 120hz CRT I used to get eye strain after a few hours.

LCD's always come with the brightness at maximum, which is FAR to bright. turn it down in the OSD to about 30-40% which'll make it all nice :D
