vista activation after a bios flash?

built a PC having a few troubles with it (DS3R)
tried a bios flash to hopefully solve the problem, now I've done that windows activation is saying the key is already in use?

is this normal ?

Yes its normal. You have to use the phone activation system now, its all automated so you wont have to talk to anyone ( usually ).

That isn't a good thing. Don't you talk to one of those things that tries to guess what you are saying?

Strange, i just flashed my motherboard a couple of days ago and it never asked me to to re activate.

No you just have multiple choice questions that you anser with you phone. I had to do it with my XP disk a while back (I'll used to same disk to build a VM when I was running Linux).

It's not a standard thing, but is relatively common. Just ring up MS and either use the automated service as stated above or explain the situation to a representative.

No its a dead simple thing to use. You just press numbers on your phone for options then type out the number on your screen on your phone in groups and if it activates then it reads back the new code on groups that you enter in on your pc. You should only have to talk to a real person if the keycode is dodgy/ been copied by someone or has been blacklisted.
