The amount of racist abuse on Xbox Live is unreal. Every other American I seem to play with is racist againt black or Jewish folk. COD4 is especially bad for it.

Anyone come across the same sort of stuff?

i love racism its fun, my best mate is Black and i abuse him so much - he equally abuses me though :D

But we know we are playing - its a pitty that people feel the need to do it with strangers and mean it

I remember getting told i was a *insert explicit name here* for getting some guy twice in BF2 with headshots. just made me want to get him more. kind improves gameplay a bit though if you think about it. as soon as a war is over you dont hear one side saying to the other "GG". :)

Hear the odd n word yeah, they're just idiots. They might not be properly racist, possibly they just think it's cool/funny to use the word. I just mute anyone who is annoying me.

I'd probably be more offended if I were black, however I've never noticed anything anti-semitic, I don't play with the headset on so perhaps it's harder to hear.

One of the prices we pay for having a virtually unrestricted internet.

I think these games have little in common with real life war. Racism is unnecessary, illogical and inexcusable. People who lay out racist abuse over games should be banned from playing, if not completely then at least from that particular game.

It's on every game unfortunately.

Get used to it!

I find that so hard to do. Usually end up in an argument with them and totally distracts me from the game. If XBL is any kind of litmus test then Arica is heading for a race war imo.

I don't think XBL should be taken as a reliable indicator of impending race war.

If I were you, I wouldn't bother arguing with them - I'd use the report button and mute them.

Youtube is just as bad....it makes me sick!

Never happens on TF2 for the pc, both brits and americans actually have a good time together as getting the game running actually requires you to build a pc and play a steam game however its totally different to Halo2/3 where any idiot can go out and buy it. Racism and just general culture bashing was really bad in Halo 2&3. If a brit so much as said a few words, Americans would just rip into him for the hell of it :(

No need to build a PC.

didnt mean racism, was more refering to threats, i agree racism should be kept out but sadly people will always exist. i dont mind receiving the odd swearie but i hate it when people have to lower the game by refering to personal threats.

its just swearies i like in games.

Racism is rife on TF2, just like every other online game there is.
