Arsenal and Manchester United Prem games left.

Have to agree. The points decide who is worthy, doesn't mean you played the best football but if you come out on top at the end of the season then you are worthy champions.

No i dont agree. The best team wins the league in general, but look at the season Blackburn won it, they were very lucky in the end. I'm a Manchester United fan but regardless of who wins the league i think both Arsenal and Manchester United are better teams than Chelsea this year.

I do see your point (although Blackburn did beat us in the season they won it) but ultimately points really are what count.

Probably lucky for Utd that Big Sam and Anelka have left Bolton, they always struggled there previously.

Im sure Man Utd hammered big Sam's Bolton for a few years running (Im sure at least one away result was 4-0)

(edit - sorry Nok, knew I should have read the rest of the thread first)

Oh yeah of course, the team with the most points wins the league and you cant argue with that. I just meant that I think both Arsenal and Manchester United have been superior to Chelsea this season and 'deserve' to win the title more. However if Chelsea end up with more points then so be it.

I don't understand what you're getting at

If Chelsea end up with more points at the end of the season then they'd have fully deserved to be champions and when you look at all their problems this season then they'd have deserved it even more so.

I get his point. All season Arsenal (and to a certain extent United) have been talked up as potential champions. If Chelsea end up winning the title it'd seem weird, and possibily more down to United/Arsenal throwing it away than Chelsea winning it.

I don't think Chelsea have been good enough this season to be champions, but they're still in the mix due to Arsenal drawing so many games and United losing so many.

what he's saying is that Chelsea havent seemed to be playing like champions. That is, with the swagger or joi de vivre that Arsenal and Man Utd (at times) have.

They've been grinding results out.

Fair enough Chelsea haven't been playing the greatest football in the league (not been that bad either, just not getting the media attention of Utd or Arsenal) but i don't agree with him saying Chelsea wouldn't be worthy or deserved Champions.

You can argue that they've been let back into the race by Arsenal and Utd dropping points but the only reason they were out of it to begin with was they dropped points early in the season.

I've been saying for some time that Chelsea have been quietly going about their business, the whole situation reminds me a bit of the last F1 season - all the media hype is around MU/Arsenal (Hamilton/Alonso), meanwhile Chelsea (Raikonnen) have been sneaking up unawares and are still in contention albeit obviously not favourites.

I actually put £20 on Chelsea to win the league a few weeks ago due to the favourable odds and their purchase of Anelka.

I still dont think Ferrari deserved it though (their man was just as responsible for Spygate after all) :)

People pay to entertain - therefore the Champions should be the team who have entertained more often (not ground out 1-0 victories)

Its like I have said - would you prefer to be Champions even if it meant losing a few games , OR go through the season with too many draws but remain unbeaten (obviously every top club aims to remain unbeaten AND become Champions)

At the end of the day as long as you win the league being unbeaten or not doesnt really matter that much

One of the most ridiculous comments I've ever seen in SA.

Historically and even present day that is why football exists - to entertain people - no different to movies or music

Its the basic truth of football, no one would go if they didnt enjoy it (and to be enjoyed therefore it has to be entertaining, one way or the other)

But most people go to watch their team win. Winning "pretty" is nice, but not neccesarily a priority (unless you're a Geordie).

You can have shots going everywhere except for the goal and it ends up being 0-0 but be "one heck of a game"

You can also have boring 1-0 wins that are as dreary as anything

Baring in mind on average most supporters will be on the wrong end of a 1-0 as often as on the right side, I would reckon most would still take an entertaining draw over boring game (whehter its a win or loss)

Obviously Im in a minority here - but I still think its a valid view

At times?
I'd say Man Utd go around with more swagger and entertainment than Arsenal do for sure. I also think we knock the ball around as well, if not better than Arsenal too.

Some of your posts make me smile, you sometimes seem completely blind due to your affiliation with Man Utd, I like to think I'm rational whilst still maintaining a slant towards a team. If people never watched Man Utd and only saw your posts about them, you'd be under the impression they're top of the league .. or something.
