Beta CrossfireX driver has been leaked

Oh dear that sucks. I'll be on XP for a LONG time yet.

Any game ive played with in xp and vista the differences between them in terms of framerate were negligable. not even 1 frame in it. 3d mark takes a hit of around 400 points now compared to the hit of around 1500+ it was originally.

I would say ati's drivers are far better tuned for vista than the nvidia counterparts, seems more people are seeing differences in framerate using nvidia cards than ati cards.

I put off going Vista til SP1 arrived, I have now switched and tbh I honestly can't tell the difference (gaming wise) between the two.

Plus Vista has really grown on me, XP now looks plain and boring like 2000 did after going XP.

I'm just that type of person. I like sticking to what I know best :p

Vista only, big ouch, now thats a dropped ball ATi, huge market lost there me old china, shame on you. :(

Thers not much they can do if xp only allows 2 afr devices which is one of crossfires rendering modes . Gonna get MS to rewrite rendering code of an os thats slowly being phased out? Good luck.

Yeah, but can anyone actually think of a game coming out this year that they really want to buy??

The development cycles of games are huge, and the Big hitters like Crysis, Bioshock, UT3, CoD4, WiC, Supreme Commander, etc have already been released, so it makes sense the next wave will be mainly DX10.

The only one I can think of that hasn't yet been released is Alan Wake, but is that still a Vista exclusive??

Funny you say that, as i heard nvidia graphics cards gained a lead when used in Vista. Maybe the latest gen was different though.

I can see the big push to Vista pretty soon if I'm honest.

3DMark Vantage
More and more new games DX10
This Crossfire revelation.
XP being phased out this year?

I'll be sticking with XP for at least this year.

Assassins Creed is supposed to be DX10 but It doesn't add any extra graphics features just the 'improved' stuff, they said its faster in DX10 than in DX9 on Vista, no Idea how XP DX9 and Vista DX10 will compare but at least it shouldn't be slower.

The DX9 api is inflexible and outdated, DX10 solves that problem. It's why quad sli only worked well on OGL stuff and not DX9 games.

It's a shame they pushed the tech forward with the (failed) emphasis on better IQ and FPS instead of an evolution from the previous api. Though with more and more horsepower from graphics cards and physically parallel cards gaining market share, DX10 should slowly show it's advantage over 9. Or maybe that's DX10's successors job?

Anywho, cfx drivers have been around the internet for ~ a month, though they are very early sets.

I hope ati can get on the ball and show some awesome numbers for games with cfx. :)

I will believe that when I see it!
