Well i've only got an sd telly and no xbox live atm. Just thought i'd let the poster know is all. Just to compare = arcade has an hdmi port (hdmi cable is about a tenner) wireless pad, but no hd, which if you aren't using xbox live like me is no biggie. Most premiums don't have an hdmi port or the new quiet 65nm cpu.

All new 360's have a HDMI port and smaller CPU die.
 
well anyway arcade assassin's creed and dmc 4 for 209 quid not bad tbh, pick up a hd and a headset for £50 and bob is your fathers brother.

edit or you can have halo 3 and gow instead

that's how much a pro/premium would cost :confused:

makes no sense to get an arcade for 209 if you're going to get a hdd and headset later on.

there are plenty of deals where you can get a pro/premium with a free game (or two if you look around)

(oh...and all 360's have the smaller cpu and slightly smaller gpu now. just look for 175w on the label)
 
Well seeing as this thread has been necro'd ...

I still haven't got an Xbox as I'm thinking of going for a PS3 instead as I can't deal with a noisy unreliable console. I haven't bought a PS3 thus far because I'm waiting. Waiting to get a new HD TV (currently looking at the benefits of plasma over LCD) and I'm hoping a new PS3 SKU is released or if not I'm waiting for the 40gb Ninja Gaiden Uncharted package for £299 is released from a popular online shop.

Now come on, don't let me down, I need 4 more pages of arguments about the xbox not being unreliable any more and some people don't know what everyone else means when they say the xbox is noisy, and why not throw in a dualshock vs sixaxis vs xbox controller argument for old times sake.

if you can get a 175w model i don't think you'll have too many reliability issues. they do seem to be much better. sure, some still fail but that's electronics for you!

as long as you can put up with the noise then you're onto a winner with the 360. especially if you like online play. xbox live > psn.

personally i don't find the 360 that noisy, but then i'm used to having a pc with 5 case fans competing against it (and winning!)
 
360 can be fairly noisy at times, but not as distracting as some let on. I've also heard ps3s make a right racket just playing dvds. Tbh its all swings, roundabouts, and little details you probably won't care about when alls said and done - I'd recommend the platform that has the games you think you'll like. They're both fantastic consoles. Don't forget the wii - they're terrific too :)
 
Xbox live and the integration of the friends list and pop up dashboard is great. Been playing on my mates PS3 today and it really lacks in this area IMO.

Res Evil did look awesome on Blu Ray though :D
