Why did you buy a PS3? I'm quite astonished that you really don't seem to like any of those. Some of those rebuttals seem pretty fickle as well, especially the MGS, Tekken and GT5: prologue ones. I know you try to put forward that you're unbiased, which is fine, but sometimes you make it difficult to believe.
I have owned ALL Tekkens bar Tekken 4, so I'm positioned well enough to say I don't find it has the depth of skilful fighters such as Virtua Fighter 5 (which is very difficult/impossible to master).
I have GT5: Prologue too, so again, I
can comment.
As for MGS, I never said it would be poor, however my point that the previous 2 have been
massive disappointments stands, MGS is one of the best games of all times and I've never been so disappointed by a game as I was MGS2. MGS3 was better, but still not to the same standard as MGS and this is well seen all over professional media, where MGS is held as one of the finest games ever made, not the latter 2. Not necessarily bad games, but certainly not classics in the way people remember games like MGS, Halo, Legend of Zelda: OoT, Mario 64, Half-Life etc...
As for graphics, if I'm comparing it to other games, then I still stand by it, it's a bit disappointing and not close to what I was hoping, but judging by graphics from other companies in the East, I'd say it should have been expected.
For your information, I never said I wouldn't buy any of them, I will sure as hell be buying MGS4 in the hope it's close to the first one. Tekken 6 is a possibility, but I'd get more of a challenge from Virtua Fighter 5 (which I did buy) which was excellent. If there are other games out that month, then Tekken may not be bought.
I own Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, it's bigger than a demo, but nowhere near as big as a full game, I think the term 'extended demo' is more than apt as a description. It's a good game, or at least Gran Turismo 5 will be, though there are improvements I would like see. Gran Turismo 5 IS a game I am looking forward to, however that's not in the 2008 list is it.
In what way is it hard to believe I'm not bias? If I don't like something I will sure as hell say so, and I won't pretend to hide it.
