I had a long sleep

I went for a quick snooze last Wednesday at 5pm, woke up and it was 8am the next day!

So that is erm... 15 hours

I didn't think 40 hours was that unusual. Next time I see my parents I'll verify it.

broken sleep prob around 12-13 hrs. Apart from when I was mid-teens i have never been able to sleep without waking up every few hrs.

Amazing how many times I've woken up, wondered what the time was and "click" on goes the alarm within a space of ten or so seconds.
How's that possible :o
It's not like I regulate when I go to bed either, sometimes it 11pm, sometimes it's 3am.
But sure as the sun rises I wake (mostly) at 7.40am every day

my most recent one was from about 1pm on a Tuesday and when i finally got out of bed it was about 7:30 am on a Thursday.

i kept waking up every few hours but still had a bit of a hangover so i kept going back to sleep :)

Only time I heard of someone sleeping that long was RAF pilots on leave during the battle of Britain :p

Personally don't think I slept for more than 14 hours in one go.

I usually feel AWFUL when I have slept any longer than 8 or 9 hours, generally just really really tired and no energy for half a day.

Longest Ive gone is probably 11 hours.

I think the longest i've ever slept is about 15 hours, last year, went to bed at 1am, woke up at 3:45pm, gf told me I'd missed breakfast, lunch, and work! oopsy!

I can sleep/nap whenever though, powernaps do me the world of good (Where they make my gf feel like crap) but once I wake up from them, i cannot get back to sleep for the life of me!

But sleeping, from tired as hell with no disturbances, i'm sure I could pull out 18!

I've no idea what the longest I've ever slept is. Doubt it would be much more than 10 hours. I tend to make up every few hours and eventually once it goes past the usual time that I get up that's me ready to go despite maybe being able to lie in. Even at that I would have the mother of all headaches :(

I do love my sleep though, but the last few weeks I've been on teaching practice and I've not been in bed very often before 2am and then I get up shortly after 7am. It literally is killing me! Only 2 weeks to go then I'm going to make up for all the lost sleep at Easter :D

It was nice! 18 hours :p

When was the last time you had a good long sleep, and how long did it last?

I got up at 5pm on a Sunday, missed my car wash morning, missed some shopping, missed everything! and now I can't sleep at 1:37am !!

Kekkles tbh.

Unless you've genuinely been ill or working 14-18hr days for weeks on end, I can't understand why people choose to waste so much of their lives sleeping. It seems so daft to me.

I don't think so. I can't really remember it was over a decade ago.

I think my first reaction was 'oh no, a day closer to going back to school :('

Did your parents not think "Oh, we've not seen Gilly for over a day, that's not normal, we'd better wake him up".

If anyone in my household slept for more than 24 hours solidly I'd at least want to wake them up to see if they are actually ok.

Same, although it is nice to sleep for hours, I hate waking up past 12 as it wastes half a day. Saying that, I think the longest I slept was about 14 hours, after an all nighter (and day) of gaming or something :o

I one hadnt slept in like 2 days. I went asleep at around 11pm and woke up at 7pm the next day :eek:. It took me an arm and a leg to get me out of that sleeping pattern. I hate messing up my sleeping routine.
