I had a long sleep

Depends how much abuse my body has taken and how long it takes for me to surface.

I can spend all weekend in bed and sleep for pretty much most of it.

Just get up to eat.

Can't remember. :o

I'm sure I've slept well in the past - possibly after my own 27 hour trip back from Down Under (rarely get any sleep on planes).

My current sleep problems are caused by two issues - allergies and a somewhat old and on the point of falling apart (e.g. protruding springs) bed.

At least one (and hopefully both) of those will be history tomorrow - £1450 worth of quality pocket sprung and memory foam goodness. \o/

I never time my sleep but id guess at about 12-14 hours. I often sleep for 10 hours at the weekend, any more than this and i feel more tired than i would have on 8 hours sleep.

I always end up getting woken up by someone or something

Can you not just go back to sleep?, i just turn over the pillow to the cold side and I'm out :).

Last night was longest in a year or so just under 8 hours, I had been up 26hrs in my defence, stupid radiator hose blowing up :(

I wish I had a long sleep, I got in at 5 am this morning, went sleep around 6.30 awake at 9.30, feeling a bit worse for wear now, gonna watch some episodes of the Terminator Chronicles then probably doze off.

Back OT my longest is about 18 hours when I was ill. Was some years ago that.

i can say to myself a time i need to get up at the night before, and i wake up around the time a stated to myself. usualy 15 mins margin of error.

Some years ago, before the days of being settled-down and fatherhood I had to continually set my alarm to make sure I didn't sleep more than 9 hours in one go. Anything over that and I'd get the awful sleep paralysis :(

I sometimes dream about having it - such a strange feeling when I wake up for real.

I would but I find that once im awake... im awake :p

It is quite easy to do! If you are destined to get up at say 7 and you go to bed at 12, your body can be, unless you are completely nackered, very good at waking you up for around 7 +/- 15 mins

I can vouch for this. 3 times this week i had forgotten to put my alarm on for 7:30 and each time i woke up at exactly 7:33  so weird!

your brain has a body clock, so it can sense light intensity and match it to a time! If it experienced 7am light intensity yesterday, it will do a good job of matching it to todays 7am!
