I currently have an AGP 6800GS and am thinking of swithcing over to a PCI-E rig.

How much would I have to spend to get a PCI-E graphics card that would outperform the current AGP 6800GS? Which would be the card you'd recommend on a very tight budget?

Thanks :D

What do you want to play and what size monitor will you be using? Exactly how much money are you wanting to spend?

IMO any second hand cards for around £30+ or perhaps less will easilly out perform a 6800GS.

Hi willhub

I'm currently using an 18" TFT and playing CoD 4 (minimum settings).

Main reason I'm looking is that my AGP socket 754 mobo is knackered and it's going to be easier and probably cheaper to find a PCI-E replacement....just wondered how much an equivalent or better graphics card would set me back.

Get a cheap 2600XT or see if there are any ultra cheap X800's going around, they do the job and are upgrades, 6800's come in PCI-E too, I'd sugest looking on the bay for something second hand or checking MM.
