Tuniq Tower 120.

Would it be possible to overclock a E2200 withthe Tuniq Tower without a Fan on? if so whats te highest you think i could get as i like to have a silent pc. If its not possible i have brought this fan for it : http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-000-XI&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=4

No in my opinion. Run at stock I'm sure you could, but not overclocked and with no fans

Not unless you have some case fans moving air about to get the heat off it. But if you run the fan inside at 1000rpm (it's slowest setting) you can't hear it anyhow

My PC is virtually silent so I know what you're after, but you simply have to compromise at some point

Btw that fan you bought. It runs faster at 1400rpm and more noisey than the stock cooler the Tuniq Tower comes with.

In fact the Tuniq tower fan is better anyhow because it has 9 blades which allows it to transfer more air than normal 7 blade fans, AND you can adjust it's speed between 1000-2000rpm using a little dial the tuniq ships with.

You should have done a little research fella.

I've recently turned my tuniq tower fan to the lowest speed and it doesn't seem to have any effect on the temperature of my cpu at idle or under load so i've left it like that. now it is much quieter.

I've done the same Darryl, although CPU temp has risen by 2 degrees.

my tuniq tower is 2nd hand and came wih no fan as it was broke..

Ah rubbish, the joys of second hand. However I doubt it was broken, probably the previous owner wanted it for himself. It's a decent fan.

Did the Tuniq still have the middle insert as you could if you wanted to just put in a different 120mm fan.

now thats badass, but 59 decibels is same level as some portable power generators...

I remember my old 60mm delta i had on an old thermalright HSF (sk something or other) and i could hear the whine from outside my room in halls. Think it span at about 4000RPM or something daft like that.

Oh I bought one of those at work, it's loud but not at a annoying high pitch like the smaller fans. It would be way too loud for me at home!

Crap fan in my experience, even when ramped up to max it would only spin approx 30rpm, and churn out a god awful noise to boot.

It sounded bad enough even before it crapped out, otherwise I'd of happily included it in the sale.

PS I'm the previous owner incase you hadn't realised.

What do you power yours buy ? Do you just blow into the fan? Because mine runs at up too 2000rpm...though i do like to plug my fan in

In all fairness though, im not sure its fair giving an opinion on something when its clearly been a deffective model.

Its not the quietest fan in the world, but its been shown to move air well.

Maybe you're right, I was just trying to state that mine was deffective and that I wasn't holding it back from the sale (as Stonedofmoo suggested).

yea thats why i bought fan controller, you dont need to max it out, leave it at 1500 or so, and when you play a game you let it loose ;D

From what I read you need a fan because of the high number of fins and how close together they are. The Ninja Sythe you can get alway without a fan however not as good as the Tunqi IMHO.

Buy the Tuniq and just turn the fan down to the lowest settings, Its silent anything below 1500rpm really.

Soons u pass the half way mark things like chassis fans hard drive scratching and my dreaded 8800GT whine surpress the noise of the HS FAN..

If u really want dead silence trun it all the way down. Its as quite as a mouse.. Quite loud on full pelt thou.. But even with my OC'ed Q6600 at 3.2ghz i never need the fan higher than medium setting.
