Moments of Irresponsibility (motors confessional thread)

Ive done launceston in devon to chievely (J13 M4) in a shade under 2 hours, thats just over 180 miles - arnt i uber? (all motorway, 4 in the morning, not actually that big a deal at all, but IF we must brag about average speeds :P)

I don't think anything particularly stands out as being utterly stupid over and above the collection of bad things I have done. There are things I have done that I wont ever do again but nothing particularly omgbad.

I once jumped a car like the Dukes of Hazard...

i once tried to slide across a bonnet like the Dukes, i didn't slide very far and i hurt my arse :(

oh and i ran over the same car while it was moving in an underground car park on the continent.... fun but not very clever

I've been shotgun on a few twice-the-limit runs... :/

Pre-prepared defence: "I was asleep, sir...Didn't know he was going so fast."

Actually, having stewed about this, you have severely ****** me off Tom.

You seem intent on getting a rise out of me, No personal attacks, you have succeeded. If this earns me a suspension then so be it.

- I have been a member of these forums for years, and have never felt the need to lie to look 'cool' or something, why would I start now?

- I posted about the 'incident' when it first happend, about 2-years ago. If I was going to make up a story, why would I say the same thing as I said 2-years ago? Surely I would make up some other amazing story?

- Of course, you would know all about the high-speed handling dynamics of a 360+bhp RWD sports car, with your massive driving experience and owning that beast of a car of yours.

- As I've said 3 times now, you don't have to take my word for this, the owner of the Skyline in question posts (or used to post) over at Skyline Owners Club as 'Jedi-Masta', feel free to PM him and get his side of the story.

No personal attacks

Me having a bad day? Noooo......

Smashed a friend’s old Austin Sprite on a private road, didn’t know how to drive, had a liquid lunch, asked to drive, was ok until he said brake, I accelerated, lost control and hit a tree.

Hit 128 mph coming back to London from Cambridge on sunny Sunday morning, it wasn’t really me, honest guv.

All done in the dim and distant past, you live and learn. ;)

FWIW you were not in my mind (Well, not after it was clarified earlier) when I said half the stuff in threads like this gets made up, but I'm sure you know that :)

Yep, I do know that Fox. You are able to see the difference in a story coming from a long standing member not known for lying, and a typical OcUK BS merchant (that's not aimed at anyone in this thread in particular BTW).

Tom, it would appear, is incapable of making that destinction.

Mate, i was going to post something along the lines of you posted this years ago, imho you are one of the most respected and valued members of motors and also a top bloke in person, god knows what he's banging on about he had an argument with me a few weeks back for which he got some time off and it was over something that was black and white.

Don't let it get to you because at the end of the day who gives a **** what someone on the net thinks, we all know who we respect the most and thats why no-one else has jumped on his bandwagon.

overclockers is full of idiots mate. Just ignore them and think of the OcUK community that chipped in to help with elliots LCR rebuild after the track day. Theres a very close knit group in motors, all of whom respect you. If the community of people who are your friends were doing this, you'd have cause for upset

but they're not. nobody you care about doubts you, so just ignore him and breathe

You are both, or course, absolutely right. I shouldn't have let it get to me. I'm having a bad day today, and it just seemed like he was intend on getting a reaction out of me.

I don't think I've ever lost it like that on here before :( :o

Was gonna say about DreXel, all his stories have never changed one bit, and he always has videos and pics to show most of his antics. I believe some of the stories in here, but not all, but then again, they're all entertaining to read except for the right pee taking ones.
