Hola, Just a quick question regarding the above mentioned 325ci Sport.

What I would like to know is what are they like compared to the 330I / CI Sport's of this world? I used to own a 330I Sport and that was a beaut and am tempted to buy another or possibly a 325 for now depending on performance.

Main Advantage atm for me goin for a 325ci Sport is the mileage of these motors and price compared to a 330.

any info is much appreciated

other option is wait a year and get a M3 :D which Is what I have tried to do in the past but to no avail! :(

They return the same fuel economy as a 330i, they cost the same to service as a 330i, they cost the same to repair as a 330i but they go slower.

I would take a 70k 330i over a 35k 325i every day of the week.

Not much in it really. 325 felt a little softer/smoother in terms of its power delivery and was a little slower compared to a 330 but other than that much the same in my experience.

I had an E46 325Ci. Running costs will be roughly the same as 330, so I don't think you'll save much money. Mine was a bit of a disappointment. The car looked lovely and was nicely balanced, but felt underpowered for it's weight. If you have had a 330 before, I guess you'll find it a step down.

I'd definitely save up for the M3. I've driven one before and the extra power, noise and the LSD make it feel like a proper sports car compared to the standard models.

in all fairness the M3 may be good but I doubt it will be worth the extra running costs/fuel costs/* costs over a 330ci? Its not that much faster in real life for a lot more money, fair enough if you use it on tracks, autobahn etc but we don't do that here.

The M3 is well worth the extra over the 330i if you are looking for a performance saloon, it moves the game on a lot. An M3 is a much quicker and a much more enjoyable tool and when you go from a 330i to an M3 you soon appreciate that.

The M3 is miles better than the 330ci though, the 330 is a nice car but doesnt feel particuarly fast unless absolutely wringing the nuts out of it. I'd definately say that the M3 is worth the premium, especially as they dont cost much extra to buy.

Hmm, for some reason I always thought a saloon had 4 doors and a coupe had 2 doors, unless they make an M3 "saloon" 4dr which I think was an e36?

Saloon is a loose term I think, generally means the style of the body being made up of 3 sections - bonnet, cabin and trunk style boot. With the added condition of being able to seat 4. 'Coupe' was a term tossed about a lot by BMW when the e36 was launched.

e36 M3 did have a 4-door saloon but didn't sell too well, it's back for the e92 though.

I'd need to know what he currently drives before recommending the wait a year option :p

Currently drive a Toyota Camry Sport lol

Lovely for motorway cruising but around town it aint great, and its got an irritating noise now when turning the steering on dry steer, So the issue I have is while I wanna wait a year - the MOT is due on this Camry in September and I don't wanna fork out wonga on it if it's gonna cost shed loads you see. Selling it privatley aint going to be easy with the noise either :(

As mentioned tho on the motorway the Camry is a superb drive.

The M3 is indeed a whole league better, as are the running costs.

On a budget, the 330i would be the sane thing to do, that said, it just takes the fun out of cars when you have to be sensible.

Enjoy the M3 mate. ;)

And now they have a relative rarity value about them imo.

If I was to go for an e36 M3 for my next car, an M3 Saloon would be the one I'd want.:)

Edit, I ment to post this with the above post!
