I got rid of my 780, and only just held onto my 680 as less buggy but still buggy and non working 2nd NIC as new.

Asus can give me a 790 for my crap TBH, and I would not run SLI its a waste of time and money and video memory.

1 top single card will always be where its at.

If your gonna buy it regardless, I advise you read all threads here and on XS.

you gotta go with nvidia if you want sli though, i ant letting my 2 GTXs go to waste.

Dont worry mate you made the right choice, i've tried other 780's which were crap, bought the XFX and i've not looked back.

Its the same board as the EVGA, you should check out their forums if you want some further reading, almost everyone on there rates these boards highly-

Everyone has same issues and most dont even OC it much, I have read every thread, the 780 and 680 are a joke.

The NB/SB run mad hot even at stock, the MSI seems the best Mobo so far but again no many peeps pushing the OC, they just post a little info telling nothing mostly.

I cant REC a 680 or 780 TBH.

well i will be happy if i can get the same OC that im getting with my 680I thats currently in my system.

and the reason im upgradeing aswell isnt just becuse of sli, i need support for 2.0 pci express for future nvidia cards awell and support for the new quads with 1333fsb

also i know going with that boardbeing refrence is the way to go as it will work with all hardware i currently have on my 680I

thanks for your imput though helmutcheese.

not everyone has the same experiances..

Correct just the majority that actually know what they are doing, please read 680 and 780 threads here/XS and Google rest.

99% crap and 1% good.

I don't see why everyone is so anti-680i boards I've been running my BFG for about 6 months now and it's been rock solid.

All the early kinks have been resolved by bios updates for me.

Found it very easy to overclock, had my Q6600 up to 3.4ghz stable - but clocked back to 3.2 whilst at uni as my room is like a bloody oven, so airflow is abismal.

Personally I'd have gone EVGA as I;ve heard nothing but good things about their tech support and they offer step up.

What some class as overclocked and others class as overclocked are 2 diff things.

Overclocking aside they are buggy and hot and BFG aint even gonna make any more Mobos.

Peeps who have bought 680 or/and780 (myself) are intitled to say they are crap if thats what we found.

I also know there is more NForce returns here than of other Chipsets.

well we will see how it turns out for me.

if it is indeed cr** then no harm i will just return it and get a state of the art crossfire board and sell my 2 GTXs and get a X2 or 2 of them

got a evga 680i a1 board and i couldnt be more happy with it got my q6600 at 3.8 and can get a near 17K score in 3dmark06 with my 8800gts :D

Works perfect, even came with latest P03 bios flashed. :)

managed to get my old overclock

1800x8-3.6ghz Quad.

great board and it even has better memory scores than my 680I and better chipset cooling due to the chipset being screwed to the board instead of prongs lol

got a question for ya guys.

for a speed of 1800fsb have any of you guys got any tips on what voltages to use
im useing the same voltages i used on my 680I but i might be able to reduce them even more on this board...

I was lucky aswell as i bought the last XFX 780I board that OCUK had in stock lol

Ohh one more thing i have 4gig installed aswell ballistix tracer pc6400 @ 900mhz Link and Sync 4.4.4.9.3.13.3.7.7.8 @T1 ;)
I even had Vista x64 installed on the hdd from my 680I install and the 780I booted right into vista no problem and vista detected all information from the board ;P

all i did was remove the nforce drivers prior to swapping the board aswell as graphics drivers :P
i then used CCleaner to get rid of files left behind heh....
