In Austria it's tradition to eat sanctified meat for easter.
Usually special easter Sausages, roast pork, easter bread & eggs (not the chocolate ones).

Anyway despite me telling my mum not to send me any of this stuff as I think it's illegal, even within the EU.
Am I right ?! (Websites I searched for this have vage information)

She sent it last Wednesday 27/02/2008 and it still hasn't turned up.

I'm sure the food is bad by now. Any idea what customs do with these parcels ?

You aren't allowed to take food from different countries in airports and such, might be the same for parcels.

 It arrived today!

The Box was damaged and it smelt like dead people.

I didn't even bother checking the meat as it smelt so bad.

I just can't believe they still delivered it.

A company in germany sent out tins of stew to its customers, including us, for christmas. Apparently they must have had a bad batch, as the tins exploded as the contents went off. Ours managed to cover one corner of our reception, leaving it smelling for days. Scared the life out of the security guard too....

PK!

Why did your mum think that sending meat through the post was a hygenic method of getting it to you?!

(I assume the fact that the meat was bad means that it wasnt sent in a refrigerated box)

Send her back a rasher of bacon in an envelope :p
