At the moment I have my logitech speakers hooked up to my PC and my 360 plugged into the AUX on my stereo. I would like to make some room though by ditching the stereo and using the logitechs for both the PC and the 360 but I'm just not sure on the best way of doing this.

The logitech speakers just have a 3.5mm connector so I tried the following:

Speakers 3.5mm -> 3.5mm coupler -> 3.5mm 2-way splitter
One side of the splitter into a 3.5mm to phono adapter -> 360 VGA phono cables.
Other side of splitter into 3.5mm cable -> PC sound card

This works in that I get sound through both the PC and 360 at the same time but the quality is very poor with an audible hissing sound.

So, is there a better and easier way of doing this or should I simply use better quality cables? (Belkin coupler, HAMA 3.5mm to phono cable, no-name splitter).
The other option is an amp but I can't really afford that right now.

i have similar trouble
its such a pain switching over all the time

im currently saving for a decent amp

You can get speakers that have slots to plug more than one input into; not sure which ones though would like to know myself.

Yeah I'd like to get a decent set of speakers - was actually looking at the Z-5400's but simply can't afford them just now. So was hoping there was an easy and cheap way of getting my current PC speakers (Z-2200's, which are pretty good quality as it is) working with this setup.

As soon as you can afford them, get them!

I did, great bit of kit, got my 360, pc and V+ box connected, no need to swap cables anymore, just push a button on the remote, seriously worth it!

Not sure, I doubt it, even the more exspensive Z5500s dont have as much conectivity.

Youd be better off waiting a bit longer rather than wasting the money you have now in cheaper rubbish.

I have the Z5400 for my PC/Xbox setup and have both connected via SPDIF. Have to say if you can stretch to afford it, its well worth the money!

I just wish I didnt live in a block of flats so I could turn the base up!
