They could be simply reporting news which is rather different to starting a rumour, being the first to break a story doesn't automatically make it just a rumour.
Loads of people are dying this year.
Thousands of people a year are diagnosed with cancer and only given a few weeks to live.... where is their sympathy?
Sad news indeed.abclocal.go.com said:The report said the cancer has spread to other organs and he has five weeks left to live.
Swayze's representative later confirmed those reports to the New York Post website, pagesix.com.

Mavrix Online said:"Actor Patrick Swayze has been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and is currently undergoing treatment. Patrick's physician Dr. George Fisher states, 'Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far. All of the reports stating the timeframe of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic.' Patrick is continuing his normal schedule during this time, which includes working on upcoming projects. The outpouring of support and concern he has already received from the public is deeply appreciated by Patrick and his family."
