Hi all,

Having some problems. Noticed some oil on the brake servo at the top of the brake pedal in the focus. So ive been told its the clutch cylinder but ive also been told its the brake master. Now I would say its the brake cos its on the brake pedal servo but I know someone that is certain its the clutch....

The picture is of the servo vacuum at the top of the brake pedal.

The strange thing also is I dont seem to be any fluid loss and no more seems to be gathering

Any help would be great thanks

Pritty sure its not my clutch cylinder leaking but im sure my breaks feel spundgy. If i sit in my car with the engine on and pump the brakes I can here like a trickling noise in the rear of my car??? Is this air in my system.??

If you press the brake pedal and the cylinder rod moves its brake master.

Normally if air is in the brake system, the pedal can be "pumped up", if you press the pedal once it goes so far down, hammer it a few times and then hold it, the air in the system compresses and the pedal builds up sitting higher under your foot.

Easier to be shown than to explain.

If that cylinder is leaking there will be fluid behind the blue end boot.It can still be faulty though, bypass internally and not leak.

Don't mess around with brakes mate, if you are unsure get it checked out by a pro.

Anyway I can see the cylinder rod mate?

If i pump the pedal with the engine off i can get it about 6 pumps and its gets quite hard but still with a little "give" in it. THen start the car with it still down it will "give" a lot then I can pump it and it constantly hises.

Also where is the blue end boot mate?
