Hopfully someone can help me out. I have the OCUK 8800GTX, it's about 2-3 weeks old.
Basically I was getting really good fps in 3dmark06, scoring 12917 now it's at 13-20fps and strugglig like crazy. Why all of a sudden has it lost all performance and is struggling, also in FEAR it's getting average 12fps. Before was about 60.
Running at stock speeds and temps are idle 50c under load about 70c
I've uninstaled and reinstalled latest drivers, but no change. oh and running off a 1000w ocz power supply. I'm really worried it's knackered and i'll be without a gc for weeks.
Any help appreciated. Thanks.

As it by any chance reverted back to x1 from x16 on the pci e this program will tell you if it has GPU-Z v0.1.7 just google

Thanks for the replys, my internet is also playing up so i'm slow replying.
Ok i think it's running at 16x. I ran 3Dmark all the way through and got this really bad score. the cpu test was running at 0fps which was odd too. useally get at least 2fps. If you need anymore info let me know.
Thanks guys.

^ your Q6600 clocks/speeds aren't right - 9x126@1134 !!
If your memory is at 1:1 even thats gonna be very low too

Yep, need to set that FSB back (266MHz, or 1066MHz effective)! It's not speedstep - otherwise the multi would be 6x.

exactly. i wonder how this has happened. i've never seen something lower the FSB in such a way...

ok hang on guys, be gentle with me. I'm totally new to overclocking. This is a newly bought OCUK ultima system, The overclocking is down to them. The screen shots i took were while an app was running to get it show the figures running 9x not 6x. Sorry if i sound like a total noob. it's cos i am. I'll get better shots if these are wrong?

So this is exactly what i was told to put in my bios.

user define
External clock - 378Mhz
Dram speed 1:1
20PCI Express clock 101MHz
Voltage Control CPU core - 1.45V
DDR2 voltage 2.200v
MCH voltage 1.29v
ICH 1.05v voltage 1.09v
ICHIO Voltage 1.55v
Advanced chipset featurers
DRAM timeings manual
cas latency -5
Ras to cas -5
Ras precharge -5
precharge -15

I would never have bought an " Out The Box OC'd " Rig as you cant guarantee overlocking and it will act up eventually and need user input.

Even the specs are made up (CPU name etc).

I would call the store, they built it and overcloked it so can help you fix it.

Well thanks for that. Well unlike yourself, I don't have the knoledge to build my own pc let alone overclock it, OCUK are supposed to be good at this, thats why I bought it. can't do much about that now. And, I thought this forum was to ask others with knoledge for help? The store is closed right now so I thought someone might be able to advise me.

I was not having a go at you m8 chill.

Its the fact they sell PC's that are highly overclocked that cant be guaranteed and peeps like yourself will buy them that worries me.

You have paid over a premium so they should give you support over the phone.

I did not mean I and others aint to help you. :)

Its the same reason I dont/cant overclock customers PC's, if I did it would no doubt act up more and cost me more time/money running about fixing them ( I dont want/need comeback ).

No worries man, it's ok, sorry if i got a bit deffensive.
Although you say i payed over a premium for their system, I actually got a great deal from OCuk. I bought the Q6600, 8800GT [email protected] system for £850, I had a couple of problems with the PSU so they upgraded it to a 1000w ocz one and changed the GT to a GTX. So I recon I got a really good system for my £850. Maybe could've been cheaper if i'd self built, but i don't know how?
Anyways, looks like somehow the bios set itself with some crazy settings, which was the problem, nothing wrong with the GTX thankfully. Back to 3.4ghz and excellent fps again.
Thanks for your help though guys. :)

No overclocked part is really guaranteed by the Manu, if someone/store wants to claim that and back it up then fine but its a headache as issue will arrise.

Sure i understand. I guess as they've provided me with the settings i'll just keep putting them back if and when it goes wrong again. I recon it was the Uguru software, it kept crashing, it's a load of *****. Now uninstalled.

You might be right. I also bought the Ultima OC 8800 GTX system and never even installed Uguru as I'd heard about it causing problems.

I've had no issues with my system and simply use BIOS and Rivatuner for CPU/GPU OC'ing tweaks without any issues so far.

Hi,

If you bought an OC Uk overclocked system you can reset it to their oveclock by going into the bios and selecting *** saved settings they put in.

can't remember why but mine lost it's overclock a while ago - had a quick look into the bios and OCUK had left a saved file with their settings in it - so resetting it took all of 10 seconds

Hey, Yeah there is a saved OCUK profile, but it's at stock settings for some reason. so they have given me the settings to create a new profile which i can load in times of need. Very handy feature.
Yeah i avoided the uguru software like the plague on my old AN7 board cos it crashed all the time, and set off alarms and stuff. But i thought i would give it another chance on a new board. But no, it still sucks. Strange how Abit provide you software that breaks your motherboard

I've been having a read around and seen someone had a problem with the bios resetting it's self when the power cable to the pc is unplugged. Now i unplugged my pc yesterday to add a side window fan, (which don't fit lol, tuniq tower in the way) And, if i recal things kinda went strange after that. So has anyone heard of this issue before and is there a way to prevent it in the future?
