Sony to sell Playstation apparel.

Guess its kind of console related news, its a strange new day today i think!

Sony Corp.'s U.S. game division on Wed. said that is has entered into agreements with four apparel and accessories licensing companies to feature Playstation game brands on products.
PS3 game brands to be featured include Resistance: Fall of Man, Heavenly Sword, and Little Big Planet.

Other brands include God of War and Ratchet and Clank.

IV Gear Inc. will develop a line of t-shirts, headwear and other apparel, Fortune Fashions will focus mass retail channels for t-shirts and hoodies, Bioworld will produce headwear, bags and accessories and MJC will round out the program with boys and young men's boxers and loungewear.

"PlayStation is an extremely strong and well-known brand” said Shelly Gayner, Director of Licensing, SCEA.

"We feel that this is a great opportunity for us to satiate our core fans and extend and capitalize on PlayStation name recognition by creating a new line of apparel in connection with the PlayStation brands and our top franchise titles."

Maybe quite cool, hope they dont make Sack boy Boxers, could be a bit rough

, anyway Im surprised they dont have something like this already.

Yeah selling addidas branded clothing (that isnt necessarily sports related) thats one thing as they already do clothing - and even at a stretch car manufacturer sun glasses etc from a style point of view

I do think its ridiculous when the branding has absolutely nothing whatso ever do with the actual product they are marketing - ie PS clothing or PS jewelery or something - to me this is completely daft

So, will the hood on the hoody be an optional extra, and the t-shirts only be coming in x-small and xxxx-large without a hole for the head??

When in San Francisco a few years back, they had Playstation branded clothing on sale in the Playstation store. I picked up a T-shirt and a PS2 hoodie. The hoodie is black with a white stripe down the arms, on the bottom of the left sleeve is embroidered Playstation 2, and there is a small embroidered PS logo on the front.
