Porto to cut their league again?!? Missed again!! 3-1!!
Shalke are through! 4-1!

Ooh - :

Arsenal
Manchester UTD
Chelsea
Inter/Liverpool
Roma
Shalke
Barcelona
Fenerbache

I'd like Shalke/Fenerbache after the holders please!! Knowing our luck we'll probably pick up Barca or somebody..

Barca are there for the taking- shocking at the back. Should be between the top 3 english teams, unless Fergie keeps playing Flecther.

Liverpool not in with a shout then? Despite a far better recent European record than the other 3 teams and the best first XI we've had under Rafa :p?

I'll be surprised if an English team don't win it. Not sure I fancy us though, not playing well enough in Europe yet.

It's still a poor side compared to the other 3. If ye avoid all the other english sides ye should make the final as all the other teams are very average. Anything is possible, ye won it before with probably the weakest side to win the Cup in a long time and as you said this side is better.

I'd say were in a pretty commanding position. If we score 1 they need 4 to win it.

Very true, they score one reckon san siro be rocking and you lot be ******* your pants , don't get me wrong regardless of who I support , i'll always support an English side in Europe :)

My point was in the bookies eyes you can't be fav's if your one stage behind the other 3 English clubs.

anyways good luck for next tuesday.......Cough come on spurs Cough cough

Great win for us, one of the most memorable nights as a Gooner for me. To beat them is one thing but to dominate and play them off the park like that was something I'll remember for a long long time. Hopefully that will give our team the confidence boost we have needed because last few weeks our belief has been shaken a bit.

Problem is if they turn up on the night you better be prepared because they will rip you to shreds and show no mercy. I still remember how they gave Chelsea a proper whooping at the Bridge and no team had dominated Chelsea under Mourinho like that, last 30 mins in particular Chelsea were lucky to only lose 2-1 because Barca should have scored 2 or 3 more! Though this current Barca team are nowhere near that quality and have been very inconsistent since that season. Like you say are very ropey at the back.

lol, Of course we will, We always crumble when the pressure is on. ;)

For this game, we are the bookies favourites, and rightly so. 2-0 and on our current form they shouldn't stand a chance. As I said, we nick one and that's them done, they can score 3 and it still wouldn't be enough, and I really can't see them scoring 4.

Edit: Plus there without Materazzi, Cordoba and likely Chivu, so there defensive options are limited.

I can see them scoring 1 or 2 but not keeping it tight at the back. Our tactics will probably be to attack them from the start to try and nick a goal, then it's game over.

I think Liverpool's best chance at the moment is to avoid all other English teams as long as possible - only then will they get thru

Yes you had a good game last night against a mid-table team (probably about due time for a good result) but when even boro nearly beat you at Anfield (and really should have done given the chances they had) you really arent in the best of shape to play a top team

You are capable of beating any team on a single match (with some luck :)), but over two legs I think you will be found out by another EPL team - even if it is in a CL situation

Im not digging at Liverpool because Im a Man Utd supporter, its really how I see the situation - You may well see off Inter but its not going to be as easy as some of your supporters suggest (probably a narrow loss, ie 2-1 or 3-2 , of course still enough for you to go through but very edgy)

I just have a horrible feeling that the draw next Friday will pair all the English sides together just to be annoying. If it doesn't then there is a good chance of there being an English winner, given Barca are without Messi for the next round it gives some sides a little hope.

Just hoping for a nice home win tonight and a hat trick from the Berba would be lovely.

The only team I really dont want to meet is Chelsea - they are really hard to break down usually

Obviously Barca are still a great side without Messi, but it would be a more free- flowing event, rather than vs Chelsea who just play to stiffle

At this stage of the competition all teams are pretty good and all teams are capable of beating each other. No easy draws now. :)

Sorry but Fenerbahe or Schalke 04 would be easy pickings for most teams still in there (I think any Manager would be happy to get either - of course they could draw each other)

To some extent but then but then Utd have lost to West Ham and Bolton this season and have a history of bottling it in the Champions League. :) Other top 4 teams also slip up against weaker opposition.

Schalke and Fenerbahce are rubbish. Fenerbahce might cause some trouble in Turkey but away from home they're well known for not turning up (Tuesday night excluded).

On last night's showing Schalke look like a free ticket into the semi finals.
