What are they up to? We haven't had any official drivers since christmas...and it's now march.

Are there any rumours of an imminent driver release?

next WHQL release will be for the 9800GX2, then the 9800GTX

going on past history they tend to forget about the previous cards and push out WHQL drivers for recent releases

If the current offical drivers work, they dont need make any new ones, 99.9% of peeps use them not mess with Beta drivers that can be crappy and you should know you use at your own risk.

Well not really. They still have issues to fix and performance can always be tweaked.

Games felt smoother with the latest beta drivers...but I got a BSOD with them.

Devs don't just sit back when something works - the improve on it and add functionality.

Nvidia website is a joke for their drivers................meanwhile VR Zone post up leaked drivers for GX2 and the card hasn't even been released..........it's laughable

You dont fix what dont need fixed, You seem to forget you got a new Beta Driver with every new high profile Demo and Full Game not so long ago.

And to the part about sticking with ATI, they have worst drivers, been that way since Detonators through to Forcewares esp for OpenGL (talking aside the period Nvidia got lazy after 8800GTX launch).

You can Google that for reviews over the years showing Detonators then Forcewares are better.

How do you work that out ?

They have the latest offical drivers on their site and a link to beta drivers.

If they linked to every buggly leak and gave out modded inf's to let you run on cards not offically supported then you would go crying to them when it BSOD and acts up constantly.

You cant have it both ways m8.

Fair points, maybe I'm a bit off the mark. I've not checked their site for 2-3 weeks but am sure that at mid February they listed latest WHQL as being those from early December even though I'm sure there were some WHQL ones available, I believe they have updated their site very recently though
Maybe I've been lucky with some of those I've tried, I know others haven't been so
Just seems that ATI have a regular and reliable release and the naming is logical whereas the Nvidia naming just seems like random numbers lol

It is a joke that they still havn't put any drivers up, December was the last set, and those are broken. i.e the profiles, they'll be doing as before, waiting till about a week before AMD's next release, then they'll hit the panic button and start hoying em out in droves to stop ppl ditiching their cards for them.

There was no driver support for 6 months when 8800's were released, everyone, "**** this 2900's out next week, im switching get some driver support, this is a joke", Nvidia "****, AMD's gona release next week, everyones gona ditch our cards to buy em, GET THOSE DRIVERS OUT, GOTA BE STOPPED!!!", sling, sling, sling......, i bet if they did release some drivers now for the 8800's etc... they would be an old set that you've already been using for a month or two as they got leaked, and i agree with the above, you can guarantee they will put some new drivers up when the GX2 surfaces (i said the same when the 9600 came out, and i was right), and the 9800 GTX, but i bet they will only be for those cards, just like the 9600 GT got the 174.16's, so your gona have to mod them to work with everything else, but im in favour of them being leaked, as its better to have some than none at all.:)
