Cape Cora Passive Radiators

/Sorry for the hijack Jokester.

To be honest, I don't look at the temperatures as reported by software much mainly because the diodes are extremely inaccurate with sub zero temperatures. This E8200 reports idle 32c in bios and one core at 42c in windows using coretemp, hot CPU? Not when the condensor on my phase is reading -60c. The hotest it will get with the E8200 clocked and silly voltage through it is -53c. The QX9650 clocked with silly voltage would get to -43ci ish. The P4 520 would be -36c clocked. These temperatures are more for me to gauge how my unit handles the load its under, but it also gives me a rough idea of the heat output of the CPU. So when a Wolfdale at idle doesn't even stress things 1c. I can safely say that it is not putting out the sort of heat a temperature reading of 40c would suggest.

I don't see how an E8500 (ES) can report temperatures that seem to be believable but the E8200 retail is completely out! I have seen another E8500 with the temperature readings waay out. Faulty diodes or the need for Bios updates? I don't know but I won't trust any software readings for Wolfdales.

If you can read the temperature in your CPU socket on the motherboard; take an educated guess from that.

Totally agree with Weescott, my E8500 had a borked temp sensor that read 48deg idle @ stock on water... When the E8400 I got a week later read 31deg Idle @ 1.55vcore & 4.2 Ghz... Go figure

I don't know much about water cooling but being a reader of these forums I get to see most types of kit in use. I never heard of Cape Cora before this thread, anymore info on them, are they new?

I know the pic above is work in progress kinda Jokester but do you think the SUGO SG03 is a ideal case for what you are doing there?

I had my doubts about that case but seeing your picture confirms it really is not a chassis for the tweaker, what a drag to have the PSU laying on the floor so u can play? :D

For some reason the system is not listed on the main alphacool website - but it's been around a good few years. It's just that passive watercooling will never boast the OC's the active air or water can acheive. It is however truely silent.

Google is your friend - most info is in forums and compertitors site :(

how well did these work in the end?
Sitting with my QX9650 at 4GHz :D, last thing I've got to do this weekend is to remove the two Yate Loons and replace them with volt controlled Noctua's. Only thing now is that I notice the slight humming noice my monitor makes :o

I've actually been eying up another big case again, which I would probably go passive CF/SLI, but I'll think I'll leave that to next year and see what Intel's next offering brings.
