its a 2nd line PC and network support role, I will be paid 24k and it will be rising fast. If it all works out etc.

One question, what would my take home pay be? after tax.

thanks PS - I only started to get interviews after i passed my Server+ so i am starting to believe that certifications do matter to a certain degree. 1st interview after 4 days of looking and it was offered on the spot :D

Congratulations on the new job!

I need to start looking for a new job - applied to loads but not heard anything back - might need to do some chasing and more applying.

Server+
Is that an abriviation of something?

Im not being funny, im just wondering as ive never heard of it?:).

Good luck, how good is Server+, I'm really wondering about weather I should try and break out of IT in education but I think I need to be better qualified.

I would love to do CCNA, but I think the only way I could manage it is with a classroom couse which is very expensive.

I always find out that pay * 0.7 is roughly what I take home (income tax + NI + student loan). Will be close :)

Worked out the monthly pay from the 2nd post, about £200 - £300 more than what im on now. Great, that should cover petrol! :(
I dont have a car atm, so am going to buy a cheapy and travel every day. about 30mile round trip a day.
