53 sport for 12k with 1 year warranty as well? If so that is not a bad deal, what are upgraded alloys? Upgraded from manufacturer or some random ones?

Make sure you take it for a test drive and check the display dials, history, etc incase it has problems. Some other guy on here ended up selling his because of problems and it was from main dealer.

Also, you'll have 3.2 litres of Audi goodness :)

The wheels are manufacturer upgrades normally fitted to the TT or so ive been told it has had 2 services first at 18000 basic oil second was the haldex which cost him about £900 this included 2 tyres for £500

2 owners demo + current the fact that it was a demo probably accounts for the wheels upgrades and the fairly high spec

Is the 3.2 much faster than the turbo one? I'd be tempted to get that instead.

Still, sounds good, I'm not really sure how much a3's and s3's are worth really...

Tyres aren't 250 a pop they're 130 or cheaper if you go for low quality ones.

18k is past the first service date, the haldex change should have been done anyway so that is nothing special. Seems alright, I would just be a bit wary about the 1st service and the fact it is ex demo.

2.0T is quoted 6.9 0-60 and 3.2 6.4 0-60. You can remap the 2.0T easy, however if you don't have the quattro version (manual only) it can cause a lot of wheel spin. This can be solved with a modified LSD apparently.

They say the 3.2 is nose heavy, what do you expect putting quattro and a 3.2 V6 in such a car!?

Old A3s suffer a lot of depreciation so you are ok with a 12k purchase as the largest depreciation has gone.

The problem with the 2.0 T is it was produced as an s3 up until 2002 and the not produced again up until 2005 which means they start at about min 14.5k all things being equal i would go for a 2.0 T, and get a V6 CD for the sound

The service interval is supposed to be 20k or variable so that 18k service was not really late, the previous owner lived out in the sticks so most of the miles were possibly not stuck in traffic

I  ed at the tyres becuase the dealer striped the bloke right up charging him £250 each

Is it? o.0

The service interval for an A3 shows within 24 months on long life or every 12 months / 10,000 miles on the Inspection service. In the service book it does say work at 20,000 miles but that does not mean it's first service is then, especially on a V6.

No it wasn't - this was the previous shape A3 and was 1.8T.

The price looks good but I'm not sure I'd buy an A3 3.2 - it was a nice car and very quick but... the steering was lifeless and the handling nose heavy.

The steering is not lifeless and with the quattro system it will feel like that but when it goes, it goes. As for handling, it is good but not great. The subtle looks, power and appreciation for such a vehicle cancels that out though.

is the handling that bad when its very similar to a vw r32?

Which R32? The new one and new a3 v6 are not as similar as some would believe. The R32 has some better parts to aid in performance and handles better.

The steering is not lifeless

If it's anything like the A4s, it is. Maybe not quite at American Car Steering Syndrome™ levels, but still not the most communicative in the entire world.

Yeah and that, but it still means no petrol turbo engine was produced between 2002 and 2005 (for the 3 door) althought other models had a turbo engine
