9800 Prices

the graphics market is terrible at the moment you have to wonder if they can make faster or better single core cards they would have done it.

the future is multi gpu the same way the future is now multi core for CPU. Neither if which are being used.

X2 = xxxx look around.Thats how much mine cost anyhow new.

Id remove that as competitor pricing is not allowed. :)

Btw op, you missed are a ******* joke off your title. :D

Thers no way in hell 8800's are worth £400+ today, the ***** came out 14 months ago, Nvidia your having a laugh. :D:D

Yep, OcUK need to remedy their X2 pricing and stock-levels by the look of things...+£40-50 and no stock...and you have to deal with City Link :o

I was going to say "But OcUK have that big banner thing saying they are the cheapest in the UK for the 3800 series"....

But that now appears to have gone.... lol

This card better perform really well if thats there pricing strategy as the x2 from ati is looking pretty good every new driver release what a change around from a just under a year back when the 2900 came on the market. Most ati cards still ain't as fast as nv cards but the pricing war seems to be in ati's favour atm. Tbh though i expect the new 9800 gtx to perform really well but i will just need to wait and see like everyone else but for the moment its all speculation.

lmao they are officially a ripoff..

anyone wanting upgrade should go xfire or even SLI - best bet from a GTX for a nice increase.

or just wait till.. when? winter maybe

but if your lookin to sell ** GTX then id do it now cos its gonna drop like a rock, hmm on second thoughts maybe not.

Nvidias x2 card and ATI's x2 card seem so pointless now

X2 = £250 look around.Thats how much mine cost anyhow new.

thats how much my msi overclocked edition was, on the day of release.

The fact is, no matter how much faster the GX2 is, theres one simple truth, as of today there is one game where more power than a 3870x2 is needed in anything at 1920x1200, and about 0.0001% of gamers play above that resolution. Are people even prepared to spend £30 more than a 3870x2, to have crysis faster? Doesn anyone still play Crysis? Frankly the 3870x2 is great, its priced perfectly and is fast enough for anything at resolutions 99% of us use. Why would i pay 50% more for a card that won't bring any new resolution settings/aa/af settings to me except in a single game that was dull and i haven't touched in 3 months. After a certain point, well, its just silly.

Ok in a month or two we'll probably get a few games that might want it Alan Wake(last check i think thats april or june now?) so eventually we might want more performance. Theres always adding a second 3870x2, or waiting for the R700.
