running 2 3870x2?

hi guys

i was looking to well get a better running out of my games and have some cash kicking about should i get a second 3870x2 will it now work running to of them and will it fix some of the lag i have been having in crysis?


edit- also will having to 2 cards let me use all 4 dvi out ports for a 4 monitor set up?

Quadfire doesn't really help Crysis at all, one of the few games it doesn't.

So don't bother if you are just upgrading for Crysis.

Do you think thats something ATI are working on though, with Crysis being a well known title?

They prolly are, it is the Crysis engine that really doesn't like multi GPU setups tho, it doesn't scale well at all. No doubt they'll tweak it to death.

However, i'm intrested that you arn't getting good performance anyway with a single X2.

What OS/DX/EXE are you running?

I find that if I run Crysis @ 1650x1050 All High (Shadows Med) in Vista x64 64bit EXE DX9 I average about 60fps in the GPU benchmark, and in game is very smooth.

running quad core intel 8gb ram and vista 64bit and yer it runs nice on high and runs ok on very high just some bits when it opens out the frame rate drops so as i have the cash is it woth getting a 2nd x2 or should i spend the money and drink and smokes lol
