Where do they get the '9 out of 10' from?

They asked 60 people, 54 of them said they wanted thereferendum. They then times it by 1,000,000 and bingo! 9/10 people in Great Britain agree :)

why are people so fussed about their say about the lisbon treaty? Hands up if you've actually read it? I mean i've never been one for politics but i'm sure this whole issue is a lot more complex than refusing the common persons say on europe.

I'd rather he focus on problems at home rather than in europe

The treaty will bring an end to Britain’s right to set its own laws in dozens of areas.

The EU will also get powers to define criminal offences and set minimum sentences in the UK. And British firms will be forced into adopting costly EU employment law.

Just some of the stuff.

It doesn't matter how many the Sun says this or that, the sad fact of the matter is all three parties offered that promise in ellection manifestos. Now they know it wouldn't pass, the Labour song is that we had the choice years ago about the EU and we are still happy so don't need to vote. I think he'll find some people alive back then had a vote on the EC, not the European Empire.

He is not a ellected prime minister, his party only have at best 30% voting approval yet still cling to power.. and they still manage to get this through. I don't blame labour for being the lying scum that they inherrantly are, nor do I blame the torys... but the lib dems should hang their heads in shame, especially that tosspot Nick Clegg.

right so labours out, the tories want to increase tax on alcohol so their out, i just generally find that lib dems make me want to smash puppies heads into walls, I guess its the monster raving loony party them :(

There was a poll done this week I think that found something like 90% of people wanted a referendum.

I'm frankly disgusted that this didnt go to a referendum. It has an enormous impact on every british persons daily life. a lot of people wont realise just how important the effect of the lisbon treaty will be on them until it smacks them in the face, and then it will be too late.

Something as major as this should have gone to a referendum, its that simple. Only reason Brown didnt have one is because he knows full well it would be refused. Tony Blair is pretty much a snip to become our President now, and worse still yet more of our individuality as a nation is watered down at a time where increasingly we are already losing our identity

brilliant, sounds right up my street, sounds like harmonization.

Again, since i haven't read it, i guess you've highlighted the negatives? What about the positives?
