just been on the dvla website, and it seems you have to choose prefix's, why????

my uncle has "14 FL" and "180 BAD"

that doesnt conform to any prefix's

how do you get such number plates, i just want the plate to be as small as possible

for example "S3XY" or "S1" or "69 X"

how do you get a number plates like this you cant get them from the dvla website or is there a special section i am missing

Places like newreg.co.uk do them under "Cherished plates" (and probably most of the others you can find by googling "personalised registration" or similar).

They're pretty expensive.

These are the most sought after and ridiculously expensive plates that are normally auctioned off for large amounts of cash to really vein people who want 81Gk N0B as their plate or other reg specialists buy them and add on their own premium and sell them on again.

i think he paid about 3 grand for 14 FL, dunno about the other one, so im better off going for the really long plates, but they all look tacky, i dont like big reggy plates, something small looks 10 x better and will be worth the 3 grand paid for it, its not like it will depreciate in value or i will need to buy another one ever again, so i might phone them up and see whats on offer, i would only but if it was something small and meaningful

Middle ground, would actually be something similar to DUP's..

LetterNumber LetterLetterLetter

Not too big, not too small, not too expensive!

its handy that a number can be put on any age car.

exactly no matter what car my uncle buys he can put his reggy plates onto it, if i were to buy a reggy starting with V9 what age does the car need to be? or with S6?

can anyone link me to a website that sells reggies starting with numbers like my uncles do. e.g. 1 ABC

agreed, ive got a 5 digit plate which is my first initial / second initial / three first letters of my surname. picked up for the princely sum of £250 from dvla
i like it and it takes the age off the car :)

Same as mine, although the prefix has no personal meaning, and the first three letters of my surname happen to be my nickname too.

£250 I think it was too. Parents bought it me for my 21st. Nice surprise actually, the Reg Doc came through on my birthday morning and I was rather confused.

yep got mine on my bday as well :D would never let it go as it means too much, although not sure about puting it on my current car at the mo which means keeping it on retention :(
