Hi guys,

just wondering if it's worth me ording the 64bit upgrade disk. What's the advantages / disadvantages of each type?

Cheers,

Jed.

Your 64bit system will take advantage of it, those stuck on 32bit will be sad when 4GB becomes the normal and they'll have to make a change. There is really no large difference when you compare the 32bit and 64bit systems except for the limitations of RAM on the 32bit systems.

Okay, so assuming I have 4Gb Ram, what are the advantages?

Your computer is faster, more secure, more stable and just generally better.

Although Microsoft won't yet publicly admit it - the 32-bit OS is practically deprecated internally.

what sort of sofrware issues might i encounter with 64bit vista?

i play cod4, tf2, css

i have ms office 2003, will that still work?

I have gone to Vista x64 and the system works fine, but some programs cause crashes, so beware! There are some Companies who offer good support, others don't care. I have (had) two Canon laser printers which won't work and they couldn't give a damn, my scanner had to be replaced. HP some Epson and Brother, super backup. WD My Book works but the software doesn't. Many software programs are just not compatible, and they don't all do what they say on the tin.
