*** The Official G92 8800GTS 512 Overclocking Thread ***

Well after reading the entire thread, there are less cards that do 800/2200 stable than there are that don't... got anything to back this up? neither of mine will get to 2200 mem, both are 800mhz stable on the core, but not in sli... that's about normal though..

Cooling isn't an issue either, 45°c with ati tool scanning for artefacts, less in everything else, 37°c idle.

hum, 169.21 was fine for me while I ran on XP 32, call of duty 4 ran fine along with everything else. would have to say its an os issue not drivers

just ran driver cleaner so going to give the .21s another go, its pretty crap that nvida have not released anything for the 8800s since november last year :(

Anyone got the "Point of View GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB" if so what clocks are you getting?

Yep, just fitted mine. Checking for artifacts @750/1875/1000 right now.

Having to run high fan speed though for acceptable temps (63c under load!!). Better get a block ordered and get it into my loop asap!

Will report back in a bit with results.

(Woo hoo! first post back after first ever ban )

Running stable now @775/1937/1052. 800 core showed artifacts in ATI tool.

To say that I'm disappointed with the benchmark results would be an understatement. Compared to my 8800GTS-640 I've gained less than 500 points in 3dmark06 (400 with the overclock!) and no improvement whatsoever in the Crysis benchmark (although the max fps went up, the min fps went down!).

:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

I really thought it would be a worthwhile upgrade, now I'm not so sure. Unless my cpu is a bottleneck, although looking at the crysis benchmark table I really should be seeing better results.

I've tried a few different drivers but to no avail. Anyone have any ideas?

4mins of Ati tool @ 800 / 1100 / 1900 and no artifacts.

When Coming to American starts ill try it again with higher clocks and leave it longer. :)

Get errors after a few mins with core @ 820.

Nothing huge, just small dots, no massive lines or anything.

Lets try some games. :)

You might but what about your standard ebay punter ;)

Exactly. Sold my 8800GT BFG OC last week for £135 on the bay and bought a Gigabyte 8800GTS 512 for £127.

After fees shipping costs (I made a fiver on my shipping) I ended up shelling out 38 pence to swap cards - result :D
