Eye contact is a City taboo

I was slightly taken back when I moved to Cambridge that no one would look at you if you passed them in the street, back in NI people would at least give you a nod to acknowledge your existence

Now I have to say that I have a fetish for eyes and lovely twins, it's very hard to resist on the way to work (I use the Nothern Line), and as you lot all know morning peak hour on the Tube is crazy and nothing is better than squeezing in next to an eye-candy :p

We're all proper friendly in Yorkshire.

I can testify that both are true. I'm still surprised at the way people avoid eye contact in this part of the world.

It's the same with many animals - eye contact is used as a challenge for status.

Are you saying that most london's have devolved into their primitive states living on instinct with no higher-level brain function present? :D

And yeah, I get the odd cheeky smile from girls if we hold eye contact for a second or 2, right fun :p

Same here. I looked at some fella for a few seconds thinking it was a lad I used to go to school with, and he came over threatnign to knock my head off my shoulders. He was a chav so I should have known not to bother.

I woulda yelled "THIS IS SPARTA!" and kicked him down some underground entrance :D
