I'm seriously thinking of selling up and going back to a console.

Nothing exciting seems to be happening in the world of PC for the next few months! Plus I've got a laptop for the gen PC type stuff!

Anyone else done the same? Regretted it??
 
I got a ps3 about 5 weeks ago and TBH its gathering dust,not saying its not a good console cos it is i just cant be bothered with it for some reason so ill be sticking with pc,ill just use the ps3 for blueray:rolleyes:so yeah i regret buying it really.
 
Just a quick statistic

According to Metacritic there are only 3 games (edit: on PS3) averaging over 90% from all reviews and all 3 of them are available on the Xbox 360. The 360 has 12 games averaging over 90%. It's not really fair to compare the PC to them (it's been around longer) but I reckon there's about 12 games averaging over 90% since the 360 came out. The PS3's been around for over a year. It really should have had some better games by now. Where are they?

If you want a Blu ray player fine. The PS3 is somewhat crippled as a games machine by it's Geforce 7 class GPU and being flipping awkward to program for. Maybe it'll come into its own later in it's lifecycle but I wouldn't bet on it.

Bought an XBox 360, played it like mad for 3 months and bought a load of games, now on the PC again lol. COD 4 on Xbox or PC hmmm, tough choice.. NOT :D
 
Good points made - I am looking at Blueray but the G/F is protesting about having both which is fair enough and for some reason I haven't been playing the PC much at all recently! Still got about 5 games in their shrinkwrap!!

Mainly because I already have a PS3 and a laptop as well, in fact I have two. :D

I used to love Golden eye on my N64 but I've been versed in the ways of the pc and mouse for so long now I'm like a guitar player on speed when trying to play shoot em ups on console controllers now.
Does my nut in!

I've been thinking of making the switch as well. PC gaming is pretty bad now-a-days and I thought I would give the PS3 a try but am undecided yet :confused:

Chucked in the rig for a 360, then bought a PS3. Then got a genital itch for a new PC, so now I have all 3.

You cant beat PC gaming IMO. Consoles are good, but for online they are very restricted.

Personally I don't think it's that! Part of me wants a new toy to play with and I quite fancy gaming on my 32 Hi Def screen sitting on my sofa rather than having to go up to my 3rd bedroom and game up there!!
 
I wouldn't pack in a perfectly good PC for a games console, there're still some cool things for it to come such as Spore and Alan Wake. On the other hand, I love my 360, too. Guitar hero 3 on the PC just wouldn't be the same. :p

i have quite a few mates who have ended up doing this... xbox360 appears to last longer... :)
 
The trouble with consoles is you need to use the tv to play them, fine if you are a single person, but if there are others in the house that want to watch tv you kind of end up back on the pc.

I did anyway.

Ofcourse there is the argument of buying another tv, but then you would still need to be gaming in a different room playing while the gf/wife/kids are watching tv.
