I had decided I'd start looking for a new car in about 6 months - something with a but more poke than my current 530i but not too far removed...

A couple of weeks ago a member of these forums told me their M5 was up for sale I just had to have a look - 6 months all of a sudden seemed a long time to wait. Even before I saw it I knew that if it all checked out I'd snap it up. The car was in great condition so I put a deposit down, and got it yesterday (Thanks Beepcake :))

To say it's amazing doesn't do it justice. As an all round car I'm not sure you could really do much better. Quiet and comfortable on a motorway cruise, but good handling and plenty of power when you need it.

Washed it this morning with some fellow OcUK'ers and went out for a drive and took a few pics...

The car is in great condition and looks to have been looked after really well. It's booked in for a service next week just in time for my trip to Germany a week later :) I can't wait, even moreso now I have such an awesome car to travel in!

very nice indeed, I like the colour, shame about the rear window tints though =(

They are picked up more in a photo than you notice in real life. I actually like them. They're not after market either - factory "privacy glass" option.

Fantastic car the E39 M5, the noise is amazing, acceleration wasn't as brutal as i thought it was going to be but still an amazing machine, seems to work well both on the track and on the road :)

Having been in it, I know how immaculate Beepcake kept it - should be a goodun! Now, when are you taking me for a spin?

The colour is actually lovely, I really like it. Silver is fine and nice to keep clean but you see lots of 5 series in that colour. Black and dark blue are really hard to keep clean and show every last small scratch.

This is light enough to be easy to clean, but not as common of the silver, I'm not sure I've actually seen another Sterling Grey E39... I guess it wasn't a particularly common choice.

rumour has it there was one of these driving along with an s2000 through the hatfield tunnel yesterday.... s2000 totally drowned it out im told

;):p
