randoms are evil
ah...street slang, is it?
Bad = Good
Wicked = Cool
Evil = Best thing since sliced bread
Seriously, though, I suppose everyone's a 'random' to people who don't know them, but isn't that half the fun of playing online - meeting new people? or at least so I thought...
I joined a few so-called 'Freeburn' sessions recently, which the host then suddenly decided to turn into an 8-man stunt challenge. Did I ask to participate? No. Must I therefore be labelled a 'Random'? (Rhetorical question, folks) Does the host really expect me to drive halfway through the city to change my cop car for a stunt vehicle? Barrel rolling a Hunter Citizen is about as easy as winning the Indy 500 in a Sherman Tank...
I stuck at it, though, for the host's sake (leaving the game would void the challenge for everyone else). I actually achieved it eventually - and what do I get in return? A friend request? nope. appreciative message? nope. Not even the chance to take him down out of frustration - I either get kicked out, or the host ends the session after getting what he wants... I feel so used.
So I say
"PHOOEY!" to the Randomists out there. (and not the good Hong Kong type Phooey either)
Okay, rant over... If you missed the rant this time, don't forget you can catch it again an hour later on Channel DolbyDigitalTHX +1...
hmmm... I wonder if I was wrong to go for the PS3 version after all...
