Genuine Leather Steering Wheel Covers - Anyone used one?

i got a pvc type steering wheel on my avensis and want a leather one

doing a search on auction site, ive come across these genuine leather steering covers, which look pretty good







cost is £17 delivered which is pretty reasonable and different colours available

what do you guys think? yay or gay?

Erm... no.

For the price of that cover you could probably find a whole steering wheel thats already leather on Fleabay!
 
My grandad fitted one to his Hyundai which became my first car. Drove it to 6th form wearing a pair of cream jeans (this was in '99 :p ) and had two nice black marks near my knee's from it :p

Honestly the crappest of crap plastic steering wheels is better without one.

You were gonna get it for the cream jeans but the brackets saved you!

Talking of wheel covers......how the **** do the halfords ones work....they look like they would just spin!

They are veru grippy rubber on the inside, they dont spin. Absolute garbage though all the same.

one of the lads over on the 306 forums got a Gti-6 wheel for his car and sent if off to be to re-leathered ( Upholstered.. whatever you call it :P )

I think it looks mint, I've been told by a reliable source that its the same leather that rolls royce use in their cars..

The quality looks good enough, colour looks a little light though.

I need a new steering wheel, mine is severely worn and in the summer it becomes sticky as small bits of leather/plastic peel off in my hands. Yuk.
