Oddball question but I just wondered if anyone had any recommendations for alloy wheel refurb in Coventry.

I was so impressed by the job that the last bunch of guys did (a Benny's tyre place, 30 quid a wheel) that I'd like a similar job done again.

I've got a list of various places but of course, a personal recommendation always adds a bit of cache to a potential place :)

FYI, these were the results last time:

I had mine done at Auto Surgery, here. I think they did a top job - you really can't tell the difference between the wheel they repaired and the others.

Websites a bit dodgy, mind.

Used Lap Tab twice when I had my Clio and they always did an excellent job.

If you don't use them make sure the company doesn't just touch the wheels up and call that a refurb. LT remove all the tyres, sand blast the wheels down, fill and damage and then powder coat them. That is a 'proper' refurbishment, where as some companies just leave the wheel on, fill them and touch up the bits that they have 'fixed', which I would call a bodge job.

Anybody care to say how much their refurb cost from Lap Tab? I may get the spideys refurbed and give them a new colour.

About £60 per corner including tyre removal/re-fitting and balancing from what I remember, although a guy at cliosport used to work there so got them done about half price so I may be slightly off.

It will also depend on the type of alloy, size etc. There should be a pricing guide on the site.

Yeah, it's "from" though and says like £15 for 18"... somehow I doubt it will be that cheap :D

I've asked for a quote now anyway.

Yeh, best thing to do is ring up or fill out the online request form.

Will obviously be cheaper if you get the tyres off and on too, but unless you know someone to do it cheap you may as well get them to do it. They stay clear of the dreaded hammer on weights too!
