Im just hoping your joking to be honest as that comment will then be something to laugh at.

You sound like one of the OcUK wannabes!

I am interested and I will email them direct...I am sure you received similar comments directed at you when you posted your CV?

And so what if somebody has a bit of passion? no point working for a company if you don't agree with it's morals or understand it's ethics on where it wants to go? Meh

The Buyer is pretty much one of the most powerful people in any company. Your decisions can make or break a company.

Good luck finding someone suitable, there is a reason these people are gold dust.

Put your original comment back up.

After last week I thought that this was going to be a markerting job !;)

:p:p

I won't bother applying, I didn't even get an Email back last time telling me to **** off. :p

One things for sure though, I could do a Damn site better job than whoever is posting these threads from the shop recently :D + :p
Talk about Epic Fail !!!

From what I understand (being reasonably close friends with the buyer for the company I currently work) the buyer is the person who

a) Knows his field inside out, so that he literally knows what the trends are, whats hot.
b) Is able to make important contacts in the industry in order to procure the required trade matter, as well as be on good enough terms and knowledgeable enough to fight for good prices). I can't stress this part enough - wholesalers do *not* necessarily advertise, they simply get contracts by word of mouth, and you cannot ask retailers who supplies them because no-one will say a word.
c) Is extremely well organised, meticulous and trustworthy.

Not to mention all of the politics of supply and demand, such as buying from Supplier A who is at war with Supplier B but you need to buy from them both, so you don't want them to find out you buy from them both. My friend got himself into a lot of trouble (short term) though it worked out in the end...

Sometimes you could simply be told no because there are already businesses in your area selling a certain product and they don't want to flood the market, or a company wants exclusive rights to sell a particular line and they are a large and influential account... its all scary to me but exciting for the right person I imagine ^^. And usually quite well paid too.

Well i just took advantage of it being in GD to have a good Laugh at the posts/adverts we've had recently & the responce they have been getting from members here & regular buyers there.
Not to mention my little dig for not even getting an email back last time i wrote to them ;)

So who told you to **** off then?

:p You need to read posts SLOWER :D

I said I didn't even get an email telling me to **** off, As in I got nowt back, Zero, not even confirmation that i sent an email :p
I am Rubbish though & just sent a mail which probably read like it was from Yossa, it was a proper Gissa job style application :o + :D
Can't even remember what job it was either as i said loads out, What day is it today, Monday, I've done 7 so far this week 12 last week 9 the week before that. Out of all them only One of them Replied saying they will let me know if they need me for an Interview.
One envelope & 3 lines of text means a hell of a lot to a fella beating his head against the wall looking for a job.

Edit.
^^ That makes it look like it was in the last few weeks when it wasn't. God knows when it was, Last year some time. It's forgot now like don't worry about it.
