With the F1 season about to start up again I thought I would ask if anyone has heard anymore news about whether or not EA did acquire the official license for F1 games?

I really wish Sony would release a patch for the PS3 game to bring the team rosters etc up to date.

I have just found a OcUK Fantasy F1 league in sports if anyone is interested?

Big F1 fan here, although I've been awaiting something to better Geoff Crammond's F1 series for years. I'm hoping too high though.
 
F1 fan here too, watched every season since I was a little lad :)

I really do wish they'd make an up-to-date game though, it's so annoying that they release the games with a roster pretty much 1 year behind.

Hopefully they're will be a cross platform release again soon too.

Im flying to Melbourne on Thursday :) ...... and then off to the Great Barrier reef for a few days after the Grand Prix finishes

PS... I love the games too, but havent tried the PS3 version yet

It's worth picking it up (probably can be had for a couple of quid on ebay), it goes back a few years though. It's the 1998 or 1999 season I think.

You've got Sauber, Benetton, Jordon, Minardi etc.

It's a good laugh, can be troublesome to get to work though (sound issues can occur and you may need to play without sound FX at times.)

You get roughly 10 seasons in the game. You develope new technology, get to do testing, R&D, the rules change each season... so one season you may be able to use the same chassis as last year, you may be able to use certain drivers aids too (auto gears etc).
 
I wish studio liverpool still made it, it would be stunning this year. Last years was great, imagine how good it would be now??

I think it's Max you should be thanking not Bernie tbh. I'm regretting trading in F1 for my PS3 now. Still have it on the PSP though so maybe I will play through that instead, although some of these F1 manager games look interesting - I have always fancied giving one a try.

Except they wont, they'll release it with last years liveries, last years cars, last years teams... as they do every flipping year.

At least with Fifa/PES/FM you get up-to-date squads when the games come out. They're not a year behind.
 
Looking forward to the new F1 season. Will be at the Monaco race at the end of May. Cant wait!

Would love an F1 game on the 360...
 
Big F1 fan here too

Really surprised how good the F1 game became after the patch and the G25.
FFB is very strong in it (Suzuka Straight Will Rattle Your Teeth Out)

Never liked the feel/handling with no rumble on the original pads.

With GT5 arriving though this aint gonna see much from me for a while.

There has been a patch to add FFB?

I bought my dad a wheel for this game, one of the expensive logitech ones as he really wanted to get into this game. But coming from the PC F1 games he had to play with a wheel

He got very annoyed quite quickly when there was no resistance in the wheel and no ffb

It worked perfectly on the GT5 demo though

So will be firing this up tonight to try that
