Big Storm Set to Hit the UK

Glad we all listened to the warnings here today! We fell into the "moderate" damage zone according to the news and the met office and boy were they right, blossom off all the trees today, never seen anything like it, then some old dears umbrella was blown completely inside out!!!!!

Seriously though for saying we were in the moderate danger zone we got naff all, just a dull damp day :/ Why as a nation do we over react to every weather "extreme" ???

I've been watching the news tonight and some of the damage shown as quite bad, and in the night it must have actually been bad here up north too as I went round the back roads on my bicycle and trees were blown over, floods down south in cornwall on the news too.

Because since they got it wrong, they'd rather exaggerate than be completely wrong.

Fail to prepare, Prepare to fail.

Atleast the warnings was out there at look at how many people knew about it and look how many people died.

I bet more people stayed in and stayed off the roads.

It was windy and as I was driving down the dual-carriageway it pushed my car a little. So I stopped driving with my knees and put one hand on the wheel instead.

I'm joking. I didn't put my whole hand one the wheel. Just my pinky. Power Steering is awesome.

(I'm joking. I drove sensibly)

Got horizontal rain here now :)

Nice...

10 am was good, the rain was somehow blowing horizontally one direction, then when you were least aare it would swap drections and get you right in the face...

Having said that other than about 10 minutes at about 4 this morning when all hell seemed too break loose it's not been too bad, just another day in Plymouth.:p

Apparently we're getting it tonight around 9PM, I came to college on the bus today as its getting windy, too windy for the bicycle atm with these 30 or so mph gusts, and the weather looks like heavy rain for the rest of the week :(.

Can never trust BBC, they said around here it would be around 17mph winds in the morning, I look out at the time it said, and it was blowing a right gale for about 10 mins
