Playing guitar is so hard! Im learning and i just cant seem to do much at all, to be fair i dont even really know where to start, yes learn some chords, but then which songs etc...

Its all weird..

Anyone here have a guitar, mic and webcam? willing to help me out a little via skype or msn??

either to play along with every so often or to help teach its up to you, wouldnt mind a newbie to play along with and to learn with..

Let me know or give me some suggestions!!

Cheers,

James.

I've been playing for over a year and still can't play more than the intro to 2 metallica songs :D

Could be an interesting one, might do me good to have someone else to butcher some songs with me to boost my confidence :p

I love teaching people the ropes, so I'd be more than happy to. Sadly you will have to wait until summer since I'm pretty busy at the moment.

I'm sure someone else will be able to help :)

I started off by getting a beatle song book. And learning how to play every song.

Chords come first

Get them nailed first along with some nice rhythm

What songs have you go in your music collection and listen to often (and obviously like?) Look for their chords, sing and strum to it. Work on your rhythm and timing, along the way, learn some intermediate skills like power chords, pull offs, hammer on, harmonics e.t.c.

Guitar Pro 5 (an excellent program to buy), learn to play music you like this way, listen whilst watching how it progress along user made tabs of that song, some are good some are poo. That's the first few baby steps to take before thinking big :)

I'd always wanted to learn guitar, I bought one and it looked great sat on the stand in the corner of my lounge until I sold it :D

I've been learning for about 1.5 years now and I'm enjoying it immensely.

Still got a long way to go, but it's pleasing to see my progress. I remember when I could barely comprehend switching between strings. :D

watching people play that quickly with no high gain "shred" tone to cover technique (or lack of) is so depressing haha, watching tommy is always a humbling experience.

To the OP I'm happy to pass on some tips that helped me get started all though I don't have a webcam.

The lower half of each line is the guitar tabs, a graphical layout of the strings (count em, theres 6!) The strings are upside down though so you need to allow for this, the 1,2,3's etc all mean which fret on that given string.
Ive only just bought myself a cort g200 to learn on and have so far learned about 3 notes and an improvised james bond theme!
