When the police want to talk to you !!!

Pfft at phone messages, I've got at least 3 different law enforcement agencies after my finger prints at the moment.

I'm avoiding them :D

Unfortunately I've been involved in a murder enquiry and a couple of suspicious death incidents and owing to my last job I used to travel around the world so was never around - when they wanted to speak to me it was always hard for them to get hold of me - I always felt as though they'd be thinking I was purposely evading them :o there is something quite odd about receiving a voice mail from some police officers when you're half way around the world. They ended up travelling to spain once, and coming to my offices as well as meeting me at the airport!

Shame I wasn't able to help them (maybe I did?).

Hmmm.... well, we'll see what happens on Wednesday.

I guess its not too bad, and I should just chill as I'd know about it by now if it was serious !!

Make sure you come back and blooming well tell us!!!
If you can that is.......

I don't really think it would be the right thing to do if I posted a policeman's name and number and location on an internet forum :)

I got asked something similar once, i witnessed a mass fight in the middle of town, and they asked me for evidence 2 years after the event. Bearing in mind i lamped someone, and was very drunk i couldn't remember anything.

I turned up to court for the day of hearing, and was told they forgot to book a judge so it was cancelled.... WTF?!?!? So i left. they asked me to go back again, and i said no, i wont be attending, i'm not waisting anymore of my time, and i couldn't remember anything anyway as it was 2 years ago. They said if i didn't go, they would come to my place of work and arrest me. I told them to try it, and see if they could find me.

Never heard any more from them.

Good luck dude, i'm sure it's nothing to worry about.

nowt to worry about probably,

I had similar recently when an old car of mine was used in a crime spree,

(the name and address he gave and i sent to the dvla turned out to be bogus

Wouldn't worry about it as Foxtrot has said it will be something silly or asking if you were at such and such place as a witness.

Just co-operate with them, I would ask him for his name and what station he works at though and meet him at the station.

Maybe they think you might be a witness to a minor crime. It doesn't sound like you're in any trouble.

^^^^^

I had the exact same thing happen to me in Leeds.

I was just asked to confirm something regarding a friend at a party weeks beforehand.

Why not? They wear their numbers visible to the public, reason being for accountability.

Which station is he from? And is he a PC or DC?

We've had a card through the door from the police when we got back from holiday the other Christmas, turned out someone had pulled off part of our picket fence that's on the front garden and was using it to smash someone car up  I rang the number and told them that we were on holiday, turns out that it happened a few months previously and asked if anyone had seen anything.

you have no doubt either dropped an apple core on the street or used a public bin to dispose of a personally addressed envelope (quite possibly two of the most heinous crimes in Britain at this time). Expect a riot van, dogs and a helicopter any time soon, don't worry though with a good brief you'll only get either 10 years or a few grands fine. The reason they are taking so long about it is that there's slightly more money to be had with a speed camera, but don't worry son, you'll get yours.

Loam

Don't talk to the police thats exactly what they want you to do then they'll charge you with some trumped up charges over an offence you didn't even commit...my advice go under then they will nevar bother you again!

He's waiting for you to panic - the moment you try to bin your hardrives a swat team will be man-cannoned into your front room.
