How do you find this card and which memory have you got (i.e. which manufacturer and rating?)

I have this card and from a quick play found the following things:

core voltage is 1.32v (most 3850s seem to have 1.22).

Core clocks to about 810 Mhz on default voltage EDIT - on water.

Memory clocks to about 1100 Mhz before artifacting.

Mine has Qimoda memory - can't remember the exact rating but its DDR3 - when I originally got the card some googling indicated Triplex do a 3850 with DDR4 but checking the chips revealed that mine wasn't one of those! I'll see if I can get more details when I'm back home tonight

I've seen the one. It had Hynix DDR4 memory.

Has anyone tried any other BIOSs on these cards?

I've tried just about every one on the TechPowerup site and they all give artifacts in ATITool at default clocks. Some worse than others. I have to underclock the memory to between 700 and 800Mhz to get it to run OK.

It leads me to think the memory on these Triplex cards is using different timings or some such. I don't object to this, since they are the cheaper cards, but it's a problem finding an unlocked (i.e. not limited to 860Mhz) BIOS.

Does anyone know more about the differences between the locked and unlocked BIOSs?

I'll jump on this thread too as I'm a owner of this card. Not getting as good clocks as you are though........

As for my thoughts/opinions:

Good little card for a great price. After I buy a x38 mobo, I'm going to crossfire it with either another 3850 512M or even a 3870x2!

I also have Qimonda DDR3 memory chips. Are your bare are have you used RAMsinks to get those clocks?

Well both cards use the same GPU the only difference is voltage AFAIK, but saying that, Jimbo Mahoney reckons that the VGPU on the Triplex card is 1.32V so it's actually the same as a 3870, is it not? However, I'm not able to get past ~750Mhz on the Core, don't know why though??

fair enough, RAMsinks it is then. won't be going under water just yet though. Surely the core voltage can't be the same as the 3870XT's because you'd be able to hit the BIOS limit on 860Mhz on the core, especially under water, or is there something else I'm missing?

What kind of 3dmark do you guys get, my best timings are 877 and 1926 with 1.4v on the core. (gecube)

I will have to try the ramsinks thing, I didnt think ddr3 got hot... Maybe I can chop up an old pentium heatsink but I will have to get some sticky stuff :/

I get around 9K but thats on a severely crippled motherboard (1x Pci-e, 290fsb limit and only support for 667DDR2 :() Need an x38 to un-choke my rig!
