Ok, I don't normally post in GD but everyone I tell this to seems to think it's hilarious, but they don't have to live with the fallout..

This little fella is Henry, he's a 3 month old Lhasa Apso puppy:

Now Henry has developed a bit of a habit of eating his own poo in the garden before I've had chance to clean it up. According to a vet, it's because his digestive system isn't particularly efficient yet so his poo is mostly undigested food.

Watching Crufts the other day the vet on there recommended "booby trapping" the garden poos by covering them in curry powder; the dog will soon learn they're not for eating. So yesterday I doused his poo in a load of curry powder and left it there. A short while later he wanders into the garden, over to his poo, and low and behold if the hairy little sod didn't gulp it down like it was flippin' ice cream! All very disgusting in itself, but today he has the most rancid curry farts imaginable and i'm stuck in the house with him all day :(

Now I don't find this the slightest bit funny, but everyone who doesn't have to smell his noxious bum gas seems to find it hilarious!

Hehehe - Methinks your dog enjoys a curry!

Can't you use other things that might put him off? Other pungent food stuffs?

I'm going to use the spray I used to stop him eating the kitchen cupboards.. hopefully that will keep him away.

Funny thing is my Mum came round yesterday and let him climb all over her. I told her this story later that night on the phone and she said "oh. I thought his breath smelt of curry when he was licking me..<pause>.. ewwwww!" :)

Dead easy way to stop your dog eating it's own dump.

Pineapple juice.

Mix it in with his dinner, he won't touch it ever again! ;)

Bad doggy!:p

Isnt there some sort of spray you can get that once sprayed onto the "dump" will stop the dog wanting to eat it?
