Great Britain?

I dislike patriotism, sort of goes hand in hand with nationalism really. Buuut i'll list my likes and dislikes of this country anyway ;)

Likes:
Strong economy
High levels of political freedom
Excellent education system
Awesome history
Standard of living!
Quality of jobs & employees

Dislikes:
The three party system we have
Not fully integrated with Europe!
The people who spend half their life moaning how crap this country is when in reality they're living a coushy middle class life.
Pretentious middle class attitudes

Outside of GB:
Netherlands
Scandinavia
Germany
New Zealand
Australia

Allow me to provide some pros and cons for america:

Pros:
Cheap Gas
Cheap Cars
Cheap Insurance
HOT TANNED GIRLS WHO WEAR SHORT SHORTS ALL THE TIME
Nice weather
Bigger cheaper houses
nicer people
no chavs
no income tax in florida
7% tax in GA
British accent is adored

Cons:
Girls can be stuck up pieces of S
people are too outspoken someitmes and dont mind theyre own business
homo economy - I intend on earning all my money in England
too many kids are smarter then me.
frat boys.
 
Dislikes:
Lack of discipline, law and order. These things are the biggest problems in modern society. Most of what I see as the big problems stems from a lack of these basic things.

No state income tax. Federal income tax still applies.


State income taxes are on top of the federal income tax, which currently tops out at 35%, as well as payroll taxes (contributions to Social Security and Medicare). They're not diffiult to avoid though bearing in mind they're close proximity to certain places. ;)

And for the US, where I now live...

Standard of healthcare
Superb levels of service (yes, it can also be OTT sometimes...)
Largely respectful, intelligent and sociable youth culture - no Chavs basically.
Pride in the country (again, can be OTT sometimes)
Proper weather
Amazing variation and spectacular scenery

Dislikes
Population largely ignorant of the world outside the US
American sports and calling their teams "world champions" :rolleyes:
Insane work ethic :)
Hard to get anywhere without a car
200 TV channels of complete rubbish - apart from Nat Geo, Discover.
Bush. Cheney. If McCain gets into the White House I'm leaving :(

And it always makes me laugh when people in USA think our youth culture is a violent drunken mess...ie football hooligans.

They are living in a country which will see 16,000 people shot dead by fellow citizens each year. As far as im concerned thats a FAR bigger problem with a culture and its society than a few teenagers getting drunk or getting into a weekend punch up.

They also have a FAR bigger country and a FAR bigger population so comparing numbers is not entirely fair. I totally agree with you about the gun crime however the violence caused by teens on a drunken brawl can be just as horrific. Isn't the proportion of murders commited by complete strangers higher now in London than New York?
 
I Like living in Great Britain, i like the dreary days and the days when its sunny. i like our Food culture, historic culture and our architecture. If given the choice i would live in America though.

Err America has a murder rate nearly 4X:eek: greater than ours.
