Should I buy an Alfa?

For someone who's never owned, let alone driven any of the cars or engine combinations you describe, you sure do have a lot to say.

The 140bhp/150bhp/170bhp JTD M-Jet 16v, I'd take that over any of the tractor like VAG diesel engines any day of the week.

A work colleague recently tested both a GT Blackline and a Brera 3.2 V6 with a serious view to buying, and I was surprised to hear from him that despite Alfas being touted as "driver's cars", neither of them could hold a candle to his Focus ST3. He was sorely disappointed by them; I guess Alfa are trading on their past [and admittedly their present good looks].

wonder lander, what is the rear visibility like out of the back of your GT?

Heard mixed reviews regarding this matter.

intrested to hear your views

I've never had a problem to be honest. The wing mirrors are good and the rear view mirror is fine for seeing behind you.

For parking then I use a mix of the wing mirrors, rear view mirror and the parking sensors. I think it would be difficult to park without the sensors to be honest.

Probably only slightly more than MarkDavis knows about the difference between handling and grip, I'd imagine ;)

And thats just ONE Alfa. Unless of course the Alfa Spider *does* have the sports car handling it ought to...?

The beauty, the soul.. of a 1.9 GM diesel engine.

Uh, I don't think that it's a GM diesel. If it's the MultiJet family then it's Fiat Group's own motor.

Thats correct.

The Alfa Diesel was a joint venture between GM and Fiat but was designed and built by Fiat entirely.

The Petrol engine is a GM bottom end married to a special JTS (Direct injection) head built and designed by Alfa.

The V6 is a Holden delevoped unit that again is married to special Alfa designed heads. The Alfa 3.0 V6 produces significantly more power than Holden 3.2 V6 found in sported up GM's.
