Just got my renewal email in from eBike.

They want £162 excluding breakdown recovery ( additional £39 ) from me this year for TPF&T.

Seems a bit on the high side to me.

What are you guys paying for your bike insurance just now?.

My bike is a 2000MY Aprilia RSV Mille.

Had my licence for 18 years, over 5 yrs NCB, no accidents/convictions.

Bike is garaged, alarmed, immobilised and chained up at night.

Who is doing some good deals just now on insurance?

£162 to be able to ride one of the fastest machines in the world is too high?!

I don't mean to seem like I'm getting at you, as I'm not at all. I guess I don't know what that is high in relation to.

Yes m8, I posted because I would be interested to see what other owners are paying in relation to this quote. :)

I'm not sure if its high/reasonable or whatever. It just seems to have never came down much over the last few years I've been with eBike. They were good value at the start, but I've been rather lazy over the past few years and just renewed with them online.

Think I'll take time out this afternoon to do some online quotes.

Cheers.

Why are you TPF&T on a bike like that? Is it really that much more for fully comp.

Price seems good to me as a few years ago i was paying £600 for a RS125

I think my dad was paying £120ish on his CBF600, and I pay £500 f/c on my insanely modified Bandit so that price seems about right :)

Hastings Direct can be pretty good if you've not used them for a while, they tend to give you a good price for the first year to get you on their books but then the bump up the price the next year. I'm currently with them for my ZX12 and am paying £197 Fully Comp, I'm 5 years older than you and have 7 years NCB.

/Edit - Devitt's can sometimes be OK or sometimes be insanely OTT, I was paying about £185 FC for my Fireblade but they wanted near enough £500 for the ZX.

What mods have you got on your Bandit and what model/year is it? And how long you been riding? I'm just curious too lol. Got fully comp on my Bandit 650, no mods or anything(yet) for £540 from Devvits. Only had my licence for like 2 1/2 months lol.

Well, first online stop was Bennetts. Used them previously, years ago.

Around £40 saved by going with them, they want £120.78 per year for exactly the same policy I have through eBike.

Good start, will try a few other places online too.

*EDIT* Oh, and if you respond, can you say if you have TPF&T or Fully Comp?.

Ta.

4 years riding (including a year on a provisional), 20 years old, 1 yr ncb at the moment and I have a theft claim from 2 years ago. It's a '91 GSF400 with a GSXR cams, carbs, gearbox, Laser full system, pod filters and DJ needles. Sure as hell packs a punch for a 400 :D

My 04 Blackbird is costing me £300 fully comp but that included Breakdown cover (pointless on a Honda!) which was about £50 of that I think, so insurance alone would have been £250. I assume its group 17 but not certain.

£262 Fully Comp for a K3 GSXR1000..

That's with full no claims and 36 years old and the Certificate says Zenith (Caroll Nash was the broker), online quotes are always £70-80 more each year, I haggle on the phone at renewal time..

Each to their own, but I've never considered TPFT, I'd rather buy a cheaper bike I can insure fully comp, saying that, I've never claimed, and the only incident has been a drop on it's side while not even on the bike!.. maybe I'm being too cautious..

Never been FC on any of my bikes, however I've just ran through the Bennetts quote again and changed it to fully comp from TPF&T and its only went up to just under £190.

Not bad!!!

lol that's some serious mods, I can imagine it packing more punch than just a normal GSF400 lol :p.
