Hi there,

Im thinking about buying Q9450 along with a intel chipset mobo, but i don't know which one to buy as i've always owned nvidia mobo's, i've been looking at the P35 and X38 chipsets, but i rather have your suggestions. I'm willing to spend about £150 on the mobo. I will be using my Crucial Ballistix DDR2 4gig PC6400 memory along with it.

Any help is very much appreciated, thanks :)

Sorry to double post....

I'm thinking about getting the Asus Maximus Formula Intel X38, which seems to be very popular and a very good board. Will it go ok with a Q9450 when they come in stock and my Crucial Ballistix DDR2 4gig PC6400 memory that i currently have??

Just making sure as this will be my first intel chipset mobo, so any help is much appreciated :) .

unless you want to go for Xfire, get a P35

you may need to do a BIOS flash to support the 45nm chip. but a £2 P4 of ebay will do that 4 you.

Hi...thanks for the reply... Not sure if i'll use crossfire, but i suppose it's there if i need it.

Which P35 board would you recommend??

Thanks for your help :) .

hi again...

Thanks for your help . I just went with the "Asus Maximus Formula Intel X38" even tho i might not go crossfire, but it's there if i need it and i've heard nothing but good things about it, so it should be good :) .

Thanks again.
