Getting rid of petrol / emptying tank, how?

Hey folks,

I need my petrol tank to be empty tommorow as it is going to the garage to have the gauge recalibrated and they have told me it needs to be empty (or as good as).

It currently has half a tank or so, no suggestions about driving around etc it seems a waste.

I wondered if there is any way I could syphon it out (legally please!) or is that not feasible?

why not i dunno, siphon it out into a gas can, stick it in the boot, then when they are done with the car, fill it back up?

Ok, serious question for you... if you empty the tank completey then how are you going to get it to the garage?

Is the garage on a hill? If so, Drive around at the top of the hill, Until it starts to die on you, Then free wheel it down the hill to the garage.

disconnect the fuel line after the pump and put into a container. Crank the ignition to pump it out.
